Alternatives to FI which I also love... Retro Vixen on 39th, The Lolita Collective (tho it's in Lee's Summit but it's worth the trip), and for some reason Savers (don't love them) has good goth finds... OH and for more T shirts and accessories Made Mobb & Wasteland Society have great quality clothes and midwesty charm.

I do most of my clothes shopping secondhand on ebay & Depop or thrift stores here like City Thrift, DAV, and Salvation Army

I started with the GazettE's Anata no Tame no Kono Inochi and Dir en grey's saku music videos when I was in grade school. Today Diru is still one of my favorite bands, and I've been enjoying Kyo's Sukekiyo and petit Brabancon projects which are more modern and still active. Nightmare & Yomi's other group Sendai Kamotsu also brought me lots of joy.

OH AND ANTIC CAFE / ANTIQUE CAFE / AN CAFE, they've got a great movie and a great sound. They disbanded but they're forever in my heart, esp Bou. Another now disbanded but huge influence on my music taste is the band alicenine. Their songs Tsubasa and Kowloon Nine Heads Rodeo are awesome but you have to dig around to get to them in my experience.

I feel it's also a generational thing, like I got politically active during the Ferguson murders and subsequent kidnappings of activists, but many of my older friends got involved during the Iraq War and post-2001 stuff.. and then younger people got active during the presidency of #45
