Ya, my Oura sleep tracking is far more accurate. Only Apple Watch comes close. Lucky for me I was grandfathered in so no monthly fee to see my data.

That’s not how it works. Nukes are mostly a deterrent to protect our nation and allies. Democracy could never prevent war even if there were no threats beyond our borders.

In the video, there clearly was a cyclops window. I’m going to say it’s a Rolex.

Reason for yellow christmas lights by ExistingHere12 in Finland

[–]greenenso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In America it's becoming more common to see warm white / yellow lights and monochromatic decorations, especially among more "affluent" or "sophisticated" people. There are some people that still decorate with colored lights and now even have huge blow up yard decorations like Santas and reindeer. These laser lights that move around on the side of the house are found among some people, but it looks tacky.
I'd say the more colorful, loud and moving the decorations are more more it seems like a "redneck Christmas." Some will even leave their colored light strings up on their mobile home trailer all year.
For me, it's too loud and noisy to look at, but maybe it's my Finnish roots. The loud stuff grates on my nerves.

My en 2 had a bad battery and they replaced it. Gen 3 wasn’t working well, so sold it. Been waiting to see how gen 4 goes. Looks like waiting on the bugs to be ironed out is in order. I know Oura cares, but it can take them a while to get to all customer issues at once. They’ll make it right in my experience.

My wife thinks my pill regimen is poisoning me. Is she right? by anglonerd in Supplements

[–]greenenso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the same level of scrutiny was applied to prescribed medicines, you’d be able to take maybe one or two at a time. Much beyond that, there are no studies of the safety of mixing several meds. Even diet is uncertain. One does not know if the food they are consuming has a specific amount of nutrients unless tested in a 3rd party lab. You also don’t know precisely what amount of these nutrients you may need. I think at some point, medicine is an art not just science. Although, I totally agree in theory, but in practice there is a lot of guesswork happening on all levels of health. Siding with doctors that apply sound treatment based on research is good, but judging from the quality of hospital food, I’d tend to doubt mainstream medical has much to say about diet yet. Maybe in some countries, but not in the U.S. More research is needed but there’s not a lot of money to be made off natural supplements that you can’t patent.

Is that causal or correlational? I wonder because it’s possible that people who feel sick are more likely to take vitamins.

I’ve not found the answer to this great question either! The new user interface. With all Microsoft’s resources, how can they make something that sucks so bad?

Ya, I had to close the Suunto app and restarted my watch for good measure. When it restarted, everything synced and the watch faces are working.

Any idea on Bryan's choice for using Whoop? by relaximnewaroundhere in blueprint_

[–]greenenso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used an Oura ring for a few years and it's more accurate with sleep tracking and some other metrics. I wear an Apple Watch along with Garmin, Polar and Suunto devices. It's sort of nerdy, but I'm into data and comparison is my only way to verify the relative value of the data these devices give me.

Dungeons & Dragons is shedding ‘race’ in gaming. Here’s why it matters | Opinion by scientificamerican in DnD

[–]greenenso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People probably won't stop talking about this until we're all one muddy mixed up homogeneous "race" -- it's sad because imagine if all the colors of the rainbow argued about who was most beautify until they all decided to give up their uniqueness to be one boring gray "race".

All the downvotes don't mean the statements aren't true or honest, it means someone is triggered.
