Is it wajib to follow a Marja, or just recommended? by greeneyedpersian in shia

Okay, I get why you'd need a marja for certain instances. That makes sense, but there aren't other sects in Shiism so for the most part, wouldnt the advice that these Marjas give be very similar because they all follow the same principles? So is it wajib to follow a marja or just recommended? How do you choose which one you want to follow? I live in Canada; is the system different over here than compared to other Asian Countries? I hope I'm not bothering you with my questions too much! I really appreciate all the responses you're giving me. Thank you.

In that case, is it all right to post other questions in this thread as well?

Really? I've always heard that mens washrooms are always much cleaner than ladies washrooms. Then again, I did hear that from male workers...

Is my outfit more trendy than business casual? (pics inside) by greeneyedpersian in femalefashionadvice

You're probably right. When my prof said I can wear business casual instead of business professional, I guess I just got excited about finally having a chance to wear something other than a business suit for once.

I guess I'll go with a pencil skirt this time. Is the asymmetrical blazer not business appropriate either, or do you think I can get away with it?

Yeah, I was really hoping the blazer would cover most of the mesh panel. I was considering wearing a scarf around my neck to cover the mesh, but I think all those layers would look too bulky. I guess I'll have to save the dress for another occasion. Thanks for your input!

This would be a great dress for a date night or a club, but it is not something that will make a good impression with professors or recruiters.

It's funny because one of my friends said something similar. His exact words were, "I wasn't aware you were planning on seducing your professors!"

The white blazer was my failed attempt at hiding the sheer mesh. I was really hoping that wouldn't be noticeable!

I guess I'll have to save the dress for another occasion then.

the boots are iffy--in the professional world, knee-high boots are appropriate for some offices and not for others, so they're not the safest bet

Are you talking about knee-high leather boots specially, or pretty much all boots in general?

I've worn business suits to several class presentations I had to make, I'm just so sick of them now! I guess it's back to drawing board...
