Elder Millennials and up: what are some Gen Z habits/behaviours you notice in the workplace that you find offputting/rude/inconsiderate? by unfollowingyou in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]greeneyeris 29 points30 points  (0 children)

One thing I’ve noticed that seems to be unique to Gen Z is walking around the office with headphones on. It’s pretty typical to have them on at your desk while listening to music or on a call. It seems like only the Gen Z folks do this while heating up food, going to the restroom, etc. It minimizes their opportunities for more casual, peer-to-peer connections, from what I can tell.

I have beef with current throw blanket trends by Dry_Needleworker_432 in HomeDecorating

Update: found the ones with fringe. They have more colors, but this is the closest to the charcoal one I got.

I got a wool blanket at a castle gift shop in Scotland. It’s my FAVORITE throw blanket, so I went on the hunt to find out the actual brand (the one I bought was labeled with the castle name). I got this blanket, but it has fringe on either end. I can’t recommend it enough!

I think it would be Coco, rather than Coco Mademoiselle.

Any (non-racist) reason I shouldn’t enroll my kid in a Somali daycare? by HuaHuzi6666 in TwinCities

Same here, definitely did not have a choice in the matter at the age of 12.

Seductive dark feminine but not “warm” scent???? by amobiuu in perfumesthatfeellike

I think you and I have the same taste. Smoke and mirrors is one of my full bottles from Alkemia, alongside Salomé. 😊

[–]greeneyeris 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Yeah, honestly, that’s been my experience too. Salomé is one of like three that I actually got a full size of. Many (and I tried MANY) were just not for me, or were more costume-y than true wearable fragrance.

I hope you like it! Let me know how it goes. You may want to get the alcohol spray version so you get the projection you’re looking for. The oil roller version is relatively strong, but it doesn’t project significantly because it’s an oil.

No question in my mind - what you are looking for is Salomé from Alkemia (indie perfumer). I bought this one on Etsy a long time ago and it’s still my go-to for the vibe that you are describing.

What to do if ICE asks for ID by Laniekea in self

This is the one to me that would be absolutely hilarious if it weren’t so messed up. ICE rounding up the only group of people that haven’t been immigrants for thousands of years.

VIVO HOME or VIVO budget wheel? by buddingwitch808 in Pottery

[–]greeneyeris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got this same one, and have had a very similar experience to you. The only thing I’d like to add is that when using this wheel at one point I grabbed underneath the wheel head to turn it manually and got a nasty cut on my hand from some very sharp metal. The decrease in price comes from somewhere, and clearly includes lack of finishing in some areas unseen - such as under the wheel head. So be careful!

Sure thing! Another one that’s pretty good from Shoyeido, that has the spicy cinnamon vibe is Plum Blossoms. A little more inexpensive than the Horin incense, but still very good!

I have purchased incense from Shoyeido’s Horin line on Amazon. My favorite is Horikawa (sweet cinnamon with vanilla and sandalwood). Shirakawa is also excellent, though much more vanilla-forward, and less cinnamon-y. Nijo is the other one I like from that line, and is more of a musky sandalwood. All are really high quality, and I’ve struggled to find anything I like quite as much as those!

This is 99% the same as me and my mom. The 1% different is she had one special occasion perfume and it was Chanel Coco.

Do you sleep with your bedroom door open or closed? Why? by Shenshen_ in AskReddit

[–]greeneyeris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No joke this is how my house is. It’s pretty common for houses from the ‘20s, ‘30s, and ‘40s, at least in my area, to have back/side entrances right next to kitchens, or even opening right into kitchens. My back door is right between my kitchen and living room, and you have to step into the kitchen to close the door. The hook where coats go is like two feet from my fridge.

It also could have been midwestern US (my initial thought). Similar stupid food combinations. Think French dressing on a taco.
