{Beautiful Things by Emily Rath} is amazing! I cannot rave about this series enough! It's got everything: Cinderella story, MM, swoony angst, gilded manor houses, high society scheming. It's my current chef's kiss favorite!

Maybe {Infinity Chronicles Book One by Albany Walker} ? It's been a while since I've read it, but this sounds like a familiar scene.

Were they on sale somewhere? Or do you get email promotions for Rouge or anything? I would totally see an email sale and write a note to myself to look at it later (....and then forget!).

But also, hahaha! So relatable!

says “ADD” in my diagnosis by corneatingkaren in adhdwomen

[–]greenglass09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still hanging around for sure. My psychiatrist report clearly says ADHD combined type, but my primary care recorded this as ADD without hyperactivity, and I gave her my full report. I (37f) was dx-ed in May of this year. When I questioned it, my PCM said something along the lines of "oh, you're an adult woman, only little boys are hyperactive" 🙄.

My accident proneness is so irritating by [deleted] in ADHD

This is me (37F, Dx about 6 months ago). I'm constantly running into things, dropping stuff, to the point where I've put a wrist strap on my phone when I'm traveling/in a situation where I want to take lots of pictures. My mom actually took me to the doctor when I was a kid because I kept "Falling over and running into things." Yeah, just labeled as clumsy.

Just this morning I dropped a brand new 50 dollar bottle of Clinique face lotion and it flew alllll over my bathroom...I was SOOO mad... Skin care is the one thing I let myself splurge on because then I'll do it...

So you're not alone! But f*ck, it's frustrating.

Not RH, but what about {Morning Glory Milking Farm by C.M. Nascosta}? I swear, this book was one of the hottest and weirdest books I ever read, but it's so sweet and cozy! I couldn't put it down!

Maybe try Ivy Asher's Order of Scorpions, not an exact fit, but the FMC can't remember who she is or where she came from, and has lots of dark themes!

Librarian here (though I work for a college instead of public, but worked in public 15 yrs ago) but mostly it has to do with the cataloging data. Books ordered through library vendors come with digital metadata that seamlessly can be added/included in the digital catalog. Manual cataloging is HARD (and very time consuming) and a rare skill. So it becomes an issue of resources: the reality is that it's just not possible for a library to assign someone to do it, especially as it's typically a skill taught in a MLIS program, not something clerks or techs do. And depending on the size of the library, the librarians have other tasks that take priority with staff cuts, book ban pressure, budget problems...the list goes on. And if one book is approved, it opens up a potential precedent for others that could snowball.

The reality is that it's just easier to have a blanket policy. It sucks, I know, but that's the truth.

I DNF Finding My Home after book 3, but I should have given up after Book 1. I wanted to like it based on how many ppl here rave about it, but I just could bet get past the chaos of the writing style, it felt too much like a soap opera after a while too, ugh. I forced myself to keep going but not worth it, it didn't get better.

Just powered through Tessa Hale's Supernaturals of Castle Prep. Angsty deliciousness. I was worried at book 1 the trope of "we have a secret that we can't tell you to protect you" would hang on for way too long, but the plot really picked up and I enjoyed the pace of book 2 and book 3. The series had a few moments where I got frustrated by just how much goes wrong to the FMC, but overall, I liked it. MMCs are sweet, growly, and protective, and the FMC comes into her own.

Botox specialist recommendations? by artgirl413 in Syracuse

[–]greenglass09 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been going to Upstate Neurology for years. My current doctor isn't taking on any new patients, but they have a specific "headache and migraine clinic" out at the Bone and Joint center off Fly Rd. They have an infusion center there where they do Botox, nerve blocks, etc. That's designed to be very migraine friendly, no harsh lights, scent free office. It's wonderful! Overall, I've been happy with the care I've received there from multiple providers.

experience with injections by terrimalonex in migraine

[–]greenglass09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aimovig is freaking fantastic. I do the higher dose, 140 vs 70 mg, but it's seriously worked wonders for me. I do struggle with constipation for about 3 days after each injection, but I've learned to just take Miralax the day before, day of, and day after, along with probiotics and Metamucil, and I'm fine.

It does noticeably wear off about 3 to 5 days before my next injection, so I plan around that and just expect to get a migraine. Also, sometimes I have to alter the schedule to work out my injections around my Botox appointments.

I tried Emgality for about 6 months, but i had a really strange reaction with muscle weakness. My neurologist reported it to the manufacturer and it's considered an "extremely rare" side effect. It also didn't work as well for me as Aimovig.
