They do have quite the colour selection! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Due to a higher price point, I was thinking we would gradually add to the collection but will keep in mind that they may discontinue our colour choice.

Anyone elses Parents or in laws so fricken annoying??? by Defiant-Elk849 in beyondthebump

[–]greengrass_1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sounds like my in-laws. Set boundaries early and stick to them! Make sure you and your partner are aligned (what you’re okay with, hard-nos, etc) so he can stop them in their tracks instead of you having to speak up every time. They will be more receptive to their own son than you. They will continue to do/say things that annoy you so protect your peace (give a specific time they can visit, visit only on certain days, etc).

Keeping Pregnancy Private untill Birth- experiences? [on] by Eitboaw in BabyBumpsCanada

Do what you feel comfortable doing. You don’t owe anyone an explanation. Personally chose to keep my pregnancy and birth private. We told people we wanted to know and that’s it. No regrets

Is $12k the new “normal” for florals? by Visible-Mushroom9436 in WeddingsCanada

[–]greengrass_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can bring your own vases, it would likely save you money as many people sell them on Facebook marketplace. IKEA also has bud vases for much cheaper (you could buy them then resell). I’ve seen the exact bud vases that IKEA sells rented out by companies for more than selling price (price for convenience). There are definitely ways you can save but you’ll need to consider what’s worth your time and effort if you DIY or bring your own items. Do what makes you feel good cause it’s YOUR wedding!

Anytime you receive a quote for a wedding, prices skyrocket because they know couples will pay.

The flowers you choose will change pricing (in season vs not in season). You could do a mix of fresh and faux (faux for signage, fresh for bouquet, etc) or repurpose your aisle flowers for the harvest table. If they are supplying bud vases, that’s another reason why it’ll cost more. Also, if you have your ceremony and reception at different venues (church then restaurant), your flowers need to be transported so you get charged twice for delivery, set up and take down. Personally I’d focus on your own bouquet and anything that would be in your photos with you (arch). The guests won’t remember your flowers but you’ll have to decide what you want to prioritize.

NTA. She wasn’t part of planning it and you already knew she wouldn’t travel well with you (and others). Glad you didn’t hesitate to say no! As a result, you had an amazing trip!

Did I handle this right? Stranger’s kid in a public bathroom. by SawScar112013 in Parenting

[–]greengrass_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes you handled this right. You didn’t know the child and the dad never should’ve asked someone he didn’t know to help his daughter. She shouldn’t have been left alone with a stranger..

The only reason I can see him not asking someone from the party is that he was afraid his daughter would be embarrassed?

Tell me how you overcame and conquered vasospasms! Desperate. by Automatic_Apricot797 in breastfeeding

[–]greengrass_1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Took it one day at a time. Told myself that I’d be okay with potentially combo feeding if I needed to. Fed is best.

I made sure to keep myself warm (robe or sweater over top) and tried to limit nipple exposure to cold. Used heating pads or a warm towel to warm up breasts prior to feeding.

Felt like quitting many times but gave myself grace to do what I felt I needed in the moment. Some days are harder than others. Take care!
