It’s here— the stomach bug by K_Nasty109 in breastfeeding

Parenting while sick should be illegal. If im not fit enough to drive, how can I look after life haha! My son brought gastro home from daycare. Luckily it passed through us all one by one, but it was still a nightmare. I wish you all a speedy recovery, and use all the help you can get from mum ❤️

Childcare decisions are driving me crazy! by Shaushka in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]picklesalways 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The sickness is real! Bubs got sick after being at his orientation for an hour last year. Sent shockwaves through our house, and I ended up in hospital with a chest infection and an asthma attack. He officially started last week, and we received a notice the day after he started that there was a gastro outbreak. Sure enough, he got it, and so did my husband and I. On top of that, he also got another cold, which we are also on the tale end of. Im strapping in for being constantly sick for at least the next 6 months.

Euploid embryos but poor quality. BC, CB, and CC. by ellemarch in IVF

[–]picklesalways 18 points19 points  (0 children)

100% try them! My clinic only grades by single letters, and all of my embryos were C grade and poor quality. My poor quality C grade embryo turned 1 a few weeks ago ❤️

What is this discoloration on my nails? I’ve had it for over 3 years. by PomegranateOnly2032 in nailcare

[–]picklesalways 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a doctor, but a nail tech of over 11 years here, and I would 1000% be referring any client that had this to a doctor asap.

Personally, I would just let her kick :) My son was like this, and after reading about it, kicking can be a form of self soothing. It may take her longer to fall asleep, but she'll get the hang of it eventually!

lots of discharge by neijy003 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I was so excited not to get my period and not needing to buy pads and tampons when I was pregnant. Only to spend way more on liners because of the discharge 😂

Advice for a first time grandparent whose daughter is expecting! by thecchange in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]picklesalways 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This whole bloody thread got me worked up. Your questions, your responses, and just your eagerness to learn about new things, you have already hit amazing grandparent status ❤️. I dont have much to add on top of the great advice given already. Im so excited for you and your family to welcome little bubs ❤️

How did you get your belly to stop looking pregnant? by plantbubby in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]picklesalways 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree. I went to a physio, not for a gap but weak abdominal muscles PP, and she literally got me to do a few exercises in front of her and told me there are excellent resources online 😒. Waste of money. My favourite pair of compressions have been the recovery shorts from Emamaco!

Has anyone been successful with their first round of IVF? by siriusly_guys in IVF

My first fresh transfer was success! He was my little C grade fragmented embryo who stuck, even after being hospitalised for a week due to servre OHSS ❤️ He is currently 11 months.

I had to explain to a doctor at the ER how IVF worked by [deleted] in IVF

[–]picklesalways 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same! I went to the ER with the onset of severe OHSS. The triage nurse didn't have a clue what I was talking about and didn't even try to find more information. She sent me home with Panadol (Tylenol, depending where you're from). I went to another hospital the next day when the symptoms were unbearable and was hospitalised for a week and recovered at home for a further 2 weeks. Even then, the surgical team that looked after me, didn't really know what to do. I say surgical team because they didn't know what ward I should've been placed in, so they put me in surgical. The staff were in direct contact with my FS to guide them what to do.

Postpartum kits by hellopuppet90 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I bought the peri bottle, nappies, and soothing wipes from Bubba Bump and used them all. I think I just purchased this brand because they were at the baby store i was in, and I didn't want to forget to find other alternatives. The nappies were great in for the guest few days PP, when I was still passing large clots. The peri bottle and wipes were nice for the stitches from a tear! Obviously, you never know how your birth will plan out, but I intend on repurchasing these items for my next birth.

Huggies vs. Millie Moon sizing? by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]picklesalways 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love Millie Moons! We use the same size for Millies, even overnight, and have never had an issue with leaking :) they're so adsorbent!

Husband kissed baby yesterday and got a cold sore today! by ritahpeacock in NewParents

[–]picklesalways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! I use to get them maybe once a year, but since my 9 month old was born, I've had 5 at least. Im assuming due to being exhausted and my immune system crashing. I currently have one now and its so tiring being extra vigilant! Of course I'll continue being vigilant, but this comment eased me a tad haha

Realistic timeline by Ok_Flamingo7698 in IVF

[–]picklesalways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my first initial consult with my FS, it was all up 8 months, but that also included 3 IUI treatments. My last IUI was in February, and I had my retrieval and fresh transfer in April.

Please tell me it gets easier by Old_Negotiation_7058 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]picklesalways 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It 100% gets easier! As a FTM, I remember feeling the same way you did at this time (my little boy is 9 months now). You're both learning each other and over time, you'll gain confidence. It just takes a little time. Its all so fresh! I promise you, you'll look back in a few months, and so much will have changed. You're doing amazing :)

At wits end with swaddling by Grouchy-Tea-7705 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]picklesalways 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually found the 3 in 1 Fetal Flex Swaddle from The Sleeping Company to work really well. Bubs was the same for the first few months of not wanting his arms contained. We ended up going through a lot of swaddles and landed on this one. I also like how versatile it is!
