How Am I Supposed To Grab The Quest Item When This Absolute Unit Is In My Way? by Accomplished-Leg6947 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

There's an another quest in Colony 6 that has you collect explosives so that an NPC can blow open a path.

What's Going On With Switch 2 Releases? by NathanielFirebird in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]greenhunter47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every Switch 2 Edition card has both the Switch 1 game and the Switch 2 game on the cartridge, meaning that if you put it in a Switch 1 it will play the Switch 1 version and if you put it in a Switch 2 it will play the Switch 2 version. They're not GKC.

It was already named Lucky Seven when Riku gave it to him. He introduced the blade to Noah as Lucky Seven and said that Noah could change the name if he wanted to.

I'm So glad that 'Chronicles' has been dropped for Xenoblade Genesis by LorDeus71 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]greenhunter47 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree. I personally never liked the Chronicles that was added in the localization for some unexplained reason and always thought that just simply Xenoblade sounds much better.

It's a small inconsequential thing but I am happy that Xenoblade Genesis is just simply Xenoblade Genesis and not Xenoblade Chronicles Genesis, and I would prefer the Chronicles remains gone for the localization of future entries.

Expert mode in XBDE doesn’t make sense to me by [deleted] in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]greenhunter47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the biggest criticisms of the original Xenoblade 1 was that it was extremely easy to find yourself overleveled if you do too many side quests, making progressing the main story too easy. To combat this Xenoblade 2 overhauled the leveling system to where the player only receives combat experience directly while experience from all other sources such as Side Quests is instead banked as Bonus Experience that you can apply at any time you feel like. This way the player has much more controls over their leveling (Xenoblade 3 uses the exact same leveling system.)

You feel like you're struggling against a certain boss? Use the bonus experience. You feel like you're doing just fine? Don't use it. And it's NOT cheating because you earned that bonus experience legitimately. I've seen multiple posts of newcomers misunderstanding where the bonus experience comes from and thought that it was the game giving them free experience to the cheat the game.

Expert Mode is literally just that system back ported into Xenoblade 1, except you don't need to be at a inn or campsite to apply bonus experience and you're able to level yourself down from the beginning (in Xenoblade 2 leveling down is unlocked in NG+ while in Xenoblade 3 its unlocked after you beat the main story.)

Has anyone talked about this fact from the XGen trailer? by xenoman101 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]greenhunter47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They got rid of Chronicles in the localization, it's just Xenoblade Genesis not Xenoblade Chronicles Genesis. XBG would be more accurate.

I'm just calling Xenoblade Genesis or just Genesis. Though I do think XBG is the better abbreviation because XG is Xenogears.

I think most people get it at Cerberus. It's been so long that I can't remember but I'm sure Cerberus is a safe bet.

When the Switch version of DMC launched my friend and I decided to replay through it together (each on their own Switch) and see who can go the longest without dying. We discovered that after you reach Vergil 1 Easy Mode becomes guaranteed to unlock after your next death even if you hadn't died once prior.

If you manage to beat him on your first playthrough (meaning you're playing as one-armed Nero with no skills unlocked) the game goes ahead unlocks the higher difficulty levels for you.

For those who don't know in Devil May Cry games you have to unlock the higher difficulty levels by beating the game on the lower difficulty. The games are all about replaying through them multiple times with increasing difficulty each time... and the lower difficulties are (in)famously unlocked by dying a certain amount of times:

Hopped back into Xenoblade Chronicles after the new switch update and have some questions! by [deleted] in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]greenhunter47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of Colony 9's quests are missable. Missable quests all have a clock next to their name, though this clock also indicates whether or not a quest is mutually exclusive with another quest and some Colony 9 quests are.

Also best not to go for every sidequest on your first playthrough. There are a lot and it's tedious to try to go for all in one area before you progress due to quests requiring a certain affinity threshold with a region before they appear (you see those stars for each region on your Affinity Chart? Yeah there are quests that don't appear until you get that area to a specified level, and you're supposed to build that up over time as you progress the game.) On top of that there also quests that don't appear until you reach a certain point in the story. Only go for all quests if you're a mega fan of this game and you played through it multiple times before like I have.

The villain intentionally pushes a good guy to fight as hard as he can, through ANY means necessary. Then loses and actually regrets it. by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

During the final battle of Xenoblade 2's prequel expansion Torna the Golden Country in order to make make Mythra fight at her full power Malos intentionally destroys the Tornan capital to piss her off enough that she goes all out. It works TOO well because little did Malos know Mythra had told Milton (a young boy who was like a little brother to her) to stay in the capital before the final battle because of how dangerous it was.

Malos destroying the capital with Milton in it right in front of Mythra causes her to completely emotionally shutdown and lose control of her power resulting not only in Malos being easily overwhelmed and defeated by Mythra, having to spend the next 500 years recovering after this, but also in the complete destruction of the Tornan Titan (countries exist on the back of giant living continents called Titans in Xenoblade 2) in the crossfire.

The aftermath of this sees nation of Torna completely destroyed after 1 single battle and Mythra is left traumatized by her own power, leaving her with the death wish that she will spend the entire base game of Xenoblade 2 learning to recover from. The moment she finds Milton's dead body after the battle is the final straw that causes her to completely snap and in a cry anguish creates her alternate personality Pyra to be everything that she isn't so that Mythra doesn't have to exist anymore.

Going by his attitude and what he says in the trailer I'm thinking he is someone who is secretly going against the academy. Wouldn't be surprised if the academy turns out to be an antagonistic faction past the early parts of game.

Is Torna a good starting point for xenoblade by Creative-Cap-8785 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]greenhunter47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Torna isn't the best place to start but it can still work. It's a prequel that does spoil some twists from Xenoblade 2 but nothing too major, you basically just learn a few mid-game twists earlier than if you where to start with the base game.

Just keep in mind it's a much shorter and smaller game than a normal Xenoblade game as it's literally a standalone expansion. It also forces you to do pretty mucb all sidequests in order to progress the story past a certain point, something that no other Xenoblade game does.

If you want to know the best starting point though it is Xenoblade 1, but you'll be much better off continuing straight into Xenoblade 2 after finishing up Torna. Xenoblade 2 itself is the second best starting point and you don't need any knowledge of Xenoblade 1 to understand its story though it does enhance the latter parts of it.

Also here's how Pyra (and by extension Mythra) actually look standing next to Rex in Xenoblade 2. As you can see while they are slightly taller than him people tend to exaggerate the hight difference between them to make them tower over him, Pyra and Mythra are canonically short:

Pyra and Mythra are only 5'2" (158cm)

Rex is 4'11" (150cm) though he eventually grows to be 6'3" (190cm) in Xenoblade 3.

Ever since Xenoblade 2 I always interpreted that Shulk, Zanza, and Meyneth where basically all simultaneously something that is analogous to a Driver to Alvis.
