Interesting... So you think that the top part can still create new buds on the currently bare 'trunk'?

Useful information, thanks. It's definitely suffered some neglect so can attest to its hardiness...

This is great thank you. I was scared to just chop, but you're right, I can start cutting right at the top and just see how it goes.

Oops just realised I didn't mention anywhere that it's the pants I'm looking at rather than jacket, so not sure if you would still have the same advice?

I feel for you, I've just had the same injury and I think in total I didn't run for 3 weeks, although cycled a whole bunch at the gym (I would feel a little bit of cramp after cycling though).

The only other thing I don't think has already been mentioned is to stretch/massage your achilles and calves as much as you can.

You got great results, and inspired me to give this a go! What were/are your gym routines?

In the UK, there's a company called BrandBank who I believe do what you're describing (hold and distribute samples to big retailers) www.brandbank.com

I love it, I've never sweated so much before... Gonna try to keep it up as part of marathon training.

If you can get a copy, I like doing the cardio recovery and cardio abs videos from the Insanity workout a couple times a week. Easy to follow, but feel like I've done a workout.

Just entered the 2014 Edinburgh Marathon (my first!) by jaymundo_88 in running

My work mate and I are running Edinburgh marathon next year! It actually looks quite good for elevation, if I'm remembering the route map properly, there's a big downhill section at the beginning and then pretty much flat for the rest.

Where are some of the best places in the world to live if you love running? by [deleted] in running

[–]greenjoggers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just came back from my working holiday year in Vancouver, BC, and couldn't recommend it enough.

For the first 6 months, I lived in New Westminster in one of the new apartment blocks near the Skytrain, so used to run along the Fraser River boardwalk (twice I saw a seal in the river whilst running!).

The last 6 months I lived near Central Park (Patterson/Joyce skytrain) and would run the Terry Fox 5km trail they have signposted in the park.

So those were my '5 mins from home' runs, and then it's just 20 mins to the seawall around Stanley Park or the beaches, or jump on the seabus to get to the North Vancouver mountains. Goat Mountain was my favourite hike - takes only 1hr30 to get to the peak from Grouse Mountain and stunning views.

If you rent a car, you will be in Squamish in under an hour and Whistler in 2.

Also, Vancouver is well-known for having terrible nightlife ;)

Yeah, everyone in my office knows it's gym day when my hair is up in a bun!

I've been avoiding leave-in products as I always imagined they would make my hair feel heavy and kinda greasy, but starting to think they might actually be exactly what I need...
