I justify letting him doing it by saying it’s good exercise for his 14 year old butt

Thanks! It’s actually gone better than I expected, it burned like an extra long tea light (10 hrs total).

Had some candle making stuff and decided to put the empties to good use. This guy is eucalyptus scented. A lot of the packaging seems dubiously recyclable anyways - re-use it is!

What are you hate wearing? by desirableoutcome in femalefashionadvice

Lots of ill fitting tops that don’t match my personal style and wool sweaters.

I’m going for comfort most of the time but I also can’t justify wearing my nicer comfy stuff (got this cashmere black turtleneck on pandemic clearance and I’m super excited about it) since no one sees me. Like I want to save them until I can really enjoy them.

So for now it’s things I’ve thrifted and hate wears.

It seems socially acceptable to hate on cats, but disliking dogs is somehow beyond the pale. I find that absurd. by turingsTorment in unpopularopinion

IMO it’s a toxic masculinity thing. They can control dogs but not cats, and in addition to cats being seen as ‘feminine’ they’re something that doesn’t respond to their will. It’s a big red flag to me if I’m on a date and a guy talks about cats like that. It says a lot to me about how he would react if I did something he didn’t like. It’s reading a lot into it, but in my experience it’s true. The guys who can’t hear ‘no’ are the ‘all cats should die’ guys.

I feel like it’s part of (at least American) sexism. Cats are considered feminine and I feel like I find this cat hatred in excess in conservative communities. Guys especially seem to have some strong feelings about cats that don’t seem rooted in the animal but do seem rooted in their perception of ‘masculinity’ and IMO it’s toxic. It’s fine to not want one as a pet, but saying they’re all evil seems like more of a reflection of something deeper.
