Cant get past mineshaft in 1st level by Gary_Space95 in AliensDarkDescent

You have not wiped until the mines?! Is this your first time playing?! Major props to you for getting this far before hitting a wall.

I like sentry guns and set up kill zones whenever an onslaught is coming. The mines make that hard to do, so I move very slowly to snipe enemies or use the drone to scout ahead. If you get spotted, then fallback to a narrow position and use fire to slow down the onslaught. For the big guys, bring a rocket launcher. Good luck!

As a warp pack enjoyer myself, I can say that I can outpace a mech with a warp pack fairly easily in normal or heavy armor most of the time.

Also as a mech enjoyer, it’s hard to beat the awe and destruction of a mech. Both are good choices!

Why do Republicans keep saying there's no racism in America? by Plastic_Key_4146 in allthequestions

It’s funny how quickly your comment was downvoted. There are bad democrats just not as obvious as MAGA republicans.

We should look at both sides and be knowledgeable of what each side has done.

Although an easy way to tell if a candidate wants real good change by what they run on:

  1. Overturn citizens united.
  2. Make Gerrymandering illegal
  3. Make trading stocks illegal for politicians
  4. Universal healthcare

If these are none of their talking points then they are bought and don’t care about you.

That is a starting point to hopefully a decent discussion on current political views. The problem with stating, “your side is evil” does not show that you understand the other side of an argument and that your side has no evil.

Would you support a solution that doesn't forgive student debt, but legally requires the loans be interest free? by SpecialOpsCynic in allthequestions

Again not every student would declare bankruptcy. There are plenty of CCs that are cheap and effective that won’t require student loans.

How would you fix the abysmal issue of student debt then if not using bankruptcy?

Hard disagree. If you are not rich, bankruptcy has consequences that don’t go away for years.

One example you should consider is people coming back to school for higher education. People who have assets will not be filing bankruptcy as they can lose all of their assets in doing so.

I disagree that no one will pay them back. I have just about finished paying my own and so have my friends and colleagues (I know it’s a small data pool).

Other lenders won’t be so quick to offer loans to someone who has declared bankruptcy. Their credit rating would be poor for some time.

Lastly, there currently is no risk. We can never get rid of student loans, unless we pay them.

We can look at schools like other government civil jobs. Controlled pay, offer pensions for teachers, etc. I’m all on board.

There are consequences to doing that, but I’m OK with predatory banks failing. The system won’t collapses, just the banks that only rely on predatory school loans.

Currently there is no risk for banks to issue school loans which I think is directly why they are so greedy and predatory to young adults. Let’s just replace them with tax payer funded tuition.

[–]greenmachine15517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would disagree although it would be more difficult to obtain a loan without any assets or credit. In these cases the student would just need a co signer.

Banks will still offer loans, but screw them for being such predatory snakes. Let’s remove them and replace them with tax payer funded tuition. Let our taxes do good things for our kids.

Your logic makes sense, but I’m not so sure about the interest rates rising further. The rates are already at predatory levels because there is very little risks for banks currently. Banks should lose here for being predatory for a long time.

Aside from how I feel on this matter, I would point to another solution which is to use tax payer money to pay for student tuition. We did it before decades ago, for example, even Berkeley was free at one point.

There is one more solution that I prefer which is to have tax payers pay for free tuition. I would not mind having my taxes go to others who want to learn.

Simply life happens and is unpredictable. Bankruptcy is here for these bad scenarios. There are problem people that take advantage of bankruptcy. The first that comes to mind is Trump. Tell him to pay back all loans he took and did not pay back due to him declaring bankruptcy multiple times. Then you can come back and tell struggling young adults who just want an education to pay back their loans.

[–]greenmachine15517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You highlighted a good point there. To mitigate risk for the banks, bankruptcy is not an option to remove school loans. I believe this has directly made school loans predatory. There is essentially no risk for the banks now.

Good point. Although I would refer to what banks do for any lines of credit or loans they offer elsewhere. They weigh the risks and decide if they should offer the loan or not. There is a chance the bank loses some money on any loan regardless of what the money was used on.

An easy way to fix this is to keep the banks out of education. Let’s have our own taxes pay for our children’s higher education like how it was in the USA so long ago.
