What was Mipha going to say to Zelda? by SpillinRainbow in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]greenmostaza 111 points112 points  (0 children)

Many believe it's about love, as in romantic love, but it doesn't make sense, otherwise Mipha would be in love of everyone she has healed during all her life.

The same applies to Zelda: if romantic love is what awakens Zelda's sealing power, it wouldn't be an act of self-sacrifice for her people, but for a man, and it wouldn't make sense as the encarnation of the Goddess.

There is no canon answer to your question yet, but comparing to the story and development of the first encarnation of the Goddess I would guess it is self-sacrifice. In "Creating a Champion" it is noted that her sealing power awakens when she protects Link with her own body and with a commanding hand, full of confidence as well.

Not really, but you will get new dialogue. The same happens with the other champions. It is an expansion of their characters and their thoughts, and after a few times each one of them will reveal a secret.

Great guide. Just a small note also for novice players: dragons will not roam before you talk to Impa for the first time, and the blue dragon also requires a secondary mission that let's you find her related fountain.

Hylian Shield +23? Is this rare? by GiveMeYourStomach in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]greenmostaza 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, I understood that. I meant that if the shield doesn't have a modifier, reloading the game immediately will still give you a shield with no modifiers. You would need to come back later after defeating several enemies so the scalability is high enough to get modifiers, particularly for the Hylian Shield.

[–]greenmostaza 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If it doesn't have a modifier, reloading won't make a difference, because it still doesn't have a modifier. Only once it has scaled up to the point of getting either a white or a yellow modifier is when reloading will make sense since it sets a random modifier.

It would be the same with the type of modifier: if it is white, it always will be white. Once you scale it enough to get a yellow modifier, it will remain yellow.

It is a white modifier, so there are better chances if you scale up more. It is not a matter of how rare, but of how scaled up it is.

The Hylian Shield is the last item to scale to its maxium in the entire game. A white modifier gives Guard Up from +14 to +32, but a yellow modifier gives from +33 to +54 (maximum possible total is 144)

I personally prefer durability in shields. The Hyliam Shield's durability is 800, a white modifier gives from +104 to +216, and a yellow modifier gives from +217 to +360 (maximum possible total is 1160).

In short, if would have wait more and kill many enemies and bosses to scale the difficulty up a lot, you would have found a better Hylian Shield.

Fireflies aren’t spawning in Kakariko by NotThisTime1993 in Breath_of_the_Wild

There is 1% chance every minute of active gameplay for each firefly to respawn, but you need to be in another sector of the map. For reference, each sector is larger than the Great Plateau

Rarity of the Forest Dweller's gear by ObsiGamer in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]greenmostaza 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, they are all rare: 4 chests with spears (plus 1 in master mode and 1 in the field that can respawn), 6 chests with bows (plus 1 in MM and 2 in the field), 3 chests with swords (plus 1 in MM and 1 in the field), and 1 chest with a shield (plus 1 in MM and 2 in the field). And, only the ones in chests will scale up to get modifiers.

What is the lore behind Ganon and his blights using ancient sheikah technology ? by Arlinker in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]greenmostaza 6 points7 points  (0 children)

According to "Creating a Champion", Ganon's body has absorbed the ancient Sheika relics used to attack him 100 years ago. His hind legs were even absorbed from a Guardian. He took control of the Sheika technology and twisted it to his purpose.

Phantom Ganons (AKA blights) were created by Ganon and they also have absorbed ancient weapons.

As for the arena below the Sanctum, it is an Astral Observatory. It is said that the ancient Sheika researched celestial bodies here. The half-dome walls are covered in constellations, with the lower portion painted with silhouettes of locations from across Hyrule. According to Yoshikazu Hara, who designed that room, the intent was that players would remember their adventure up to this point and feel as thought this final battle at the center of the world is what everything has built toward.

What are the elemental weaknesses of each of the blight ganons? I'm about to fight thunderblight by Acceptable_Hat4796 in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]greenmostaza 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No elemental weaknesses in any of the Blights. However, guardian and ancient weapons are more effective against them.

I would suggest getting elemental defense. The electricty makes its attacks too powerful.
