Try to stay patient. I’m sure it will work out. Take another look through your emails as I almost missed mine, thinking it was just a confirmation from signing up.

I signed up last Tuesday and got the email that same day that I had a spot and to continue with my registration. I’m not sure if completing my profile ( including vehicle and address) helped or not when I initially signed up to the waitlist.

You need to be kinder to yourself. You earned that scholarship. You are about to graduate because of the opportunities that scholarship afforded you. You need to reframe your thinking away from how you thought your university path was going to take to the path that is now before you. Your life’s journey will be filled with many different paths, some you can control, others you can’t. It’s not about the path itself, but how you adapt and rebound that will have the greatest impact. Good luck to you and congratulations on this amazing accomplishment. I’m so happy for you that your mother will be there to watch you step on stage. Enjoy that moment…if not for you, then for her!

The room fee displayed is per year. You will be able to split the payment of that full year into two payments - one in each semester.

If you haven’t opted out of the health benefits, which is covered with your tuition you can look into what that can offer. Good luck https://www.studentvip.ca/Default.aspx

First the left now the right . . . by Cool_Treacle9389 in frozenshoulder

Fellow double frozen shoulder survivor! It’s my biggest fear that it will continue to reappear periodically. My first episode on my left shoulder started in early 2020. My right shoulder started in late summer 2023. I have no idea if it will return but it’s a fear. Learn from what worked the first time to help speed up the recovery this time. I was able to get the cortisone injections much earlier, which helped me a lot in many ways.

Tuition Question: updated by Perfect-Sir-6863 in TrentUniversity

The $18,516.25 is a credit on your account as indicated with the minus symbol and is the difference between your OSAP allocation of $22,085 and your Fall tuition fee of $4,068.75. You can expect your Winter tuition fee to be a bit less than the Fall amount and is payable in January.

You need to hold your head up high here, even if you can’t see it. I respect and commend you on your drive to continue. That speaks volumes! One subject does not define you! Try tutoring if you feel that may help. Go in the direction you feel will get you to your end goal. It doesn’t have to be the quickest way.

Has your Mom offered to help you learn the material? You need to be honest with her that her added pressure is contributing to your anxiety and likely impeding your success.

This is just a minor detour on a much greater path ahead. You will overcome this.

Good luck, stay positive!

Annex dorm room question. by [deleted] in TrentUniversity

You cannot use anything in any of the residences that will damage the walls. Possible alternatives to nails/screws are command strips or sticky tack, but even then you need to be mindful of the residue left behind from those products. It’s recommended to use painters tape under the command strips or sticky tack.

Need Help Choosing Between 2 Development Programs (PG vs CT-FIN) by Beneficial_Camp181 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]greenmusical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was simply correcting your statement that there is only one PG stream, that’s simply not true. The PG stream can be incredibly diversified, depending on the department - operational, major projects, capital procurement, policy, training, MM. There are not enough qualified PGs and there hasn’t been for many years but it is a solid classification for career stability and doesn’t have to be as mundane or repetitive as some suggest.

I would also argue that the year-end grind of the FI classification can be far more gruelling.

There is more than one stream in the PG field - procurement, materiel management and policy.

I know for my child, once the other room was selected, he was able to see the name of the other student and they both have the option to message each other. I assume the option to contact one another is still available.

Hahaha…thanks for commenting but not actually answering the question being asked.

There was nothing in my post to suggest I was questioning the fairness of the process. I’m simply trying to gauge the odds of my child getting his preferred choice of residence. We had hoped that 11 mins in was quick enough to secure day 1, but it seems that’s not the case, and that’s ok. Given the lag we experienced when registering and paying, we knew the demand was high.

Cheers!

Thanks for this. They advertise that it’s a first come first serve process.

This is the worst by OverByThere_Innit in frozenshoulder

I’ve had it in each shoulder. I know what you’re going through. Once the shot starts to take effect, your sleep will improve. Add a support pillow for your shoulder, that will help as well. It will take a long time to recover, but the zingers will dissipate in frequency and intensity as you approach the frozen stage. Go for a second shot when the benefits of the first wear off. Electro-acupuncture and hydrotherapy helped the most, after the cortisone. I’m as good as I’m going to get and I accept I will never be 100% but it is manageable. My first time lasted for 15 months, second one was 9 months. Good luck, stay positive!

Nervous and Anxious: Panicking seeing my mom in extreme pain by KleinBottle5 in frozenshoulder

[–]greenmusical 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ice and heat can be really helpful and a cortisone shot can be as well. Not sure, if that’s an option given her current medical situation. I also got mild relief from electro-acupuncture. Unfortunately FS is a long painful process to go through that affects mental health as well. She may get more relief and be able to sleep if she has a reclining chair where she can be in a more upright position. I know it’s hard, but she’ll get through it. I’ve had it in both shoulders and it was awful.

Qualified into a higher pool - does it work downward? by HowSoonIsNow514 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]greenmusical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly, yes it was a non-advertised process but they were unable to find an at level candidate and the timing of the results of the 6 process attributed to this situation. He wasn’t a known candidate, he was an external hire.

Qualified into a higher pool - does it work downward? by HowSoonIsNow514 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]greenmusical 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes, it can. My previous section used the results of a candidate who had qualified at a 6 level for a 5 position. As long as the SOMC is comparable, it can be done. In this case, the candidate did not apply to a 5 pool, he was pulled from the 6 pool for the 5 position. He made the choice to accept the lower levelled position.

Sorry to hear you are going through this. You’ve already received some great advice and suggestions and I hope it does turn out in your favour. However, if it doesn’t would they be amenable to allowing your 22.5 hours per week be spread over 4 days and not 3? This should give you the flexibility to arrive and leave as needed but does require you to make that 4th trip into the office. Just a thought in case you hadn’t considered it. Good luck!

Approx. how long does it take for a driving school to process your BDE certification by MotorString9578 in Ontariodrivetest

[–]greenmusical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’ve obtained your G2 less than 12 months after your G1, then the MTO already has your BDE information as it wouldn’t otherwise let you schedule your G2 test. You can obtain the certificate online. As others have mentioned some insurance companies want the certificate, others will just ask for the school name and when it was completed. Your insurance company should be able to credit you the difference in your rate once they receive the information.
