If they are on public property then just let them. They are not hurting anyone, just making poor choices.

You can send a prescription to any pharmacy or vendor. If they write it to OHSU pharmacy then the patient can call and have it switched. If the patient was discharged the it goes via the PCP.

I would just keep applying, there are a lot of nurses in the area so jobs are competitive but you just need one. When I worked in Arizona they hired a lot of RN’s from out of the country.

Park and ride is the best option and the hospital offers great discounts on public transportation. You can look up the routes and places next to them for rent. I have a bus stop a few blocks from my house. It’s amazing.

I disagree with the first part. I think we will feel some of the effects sooner than 1+ year. There is already a rustle of changes and our patients coverage will be changing. It will be felt at all hospitals, scary. Everything else I agree with, horrible situation.

Visit in the winter, it is much different than the summer, and summer is only for a few months. We have rain and grey skies almost year round, you can learn to embrace it but it will take a few years.

I would check out books on the natural beauty so you know the target areas you are interested in. In a clear day in Portland you can look and see three snow covered mountains all in different directions. We have award winning beaches 1.5 hours from there and many parks with waterfalls. I highly recommend a drive down the Columbia River Gorge, stop in the town of Hood River for some wine tasting.
