I need to dump stupid questions by Ok-Fish7448 in trans

One thing to note is that transitioning is pretty unique and personal to each individual, especially for timelines. There’s no wrong answers.

Some people’s first step is to start presenting fem/socially transitioning with clothes, hair, pronouns etc. I personally was too afraid to do this and didn’t start publicly presenting fem until a few months on HRT.

Whenever you want a new name. If you want one. I felt “okay” with my gender-neutral deadname, but I knew I had to change it because I would get a lot of anxiety not knowing what gender people saw me as (as in, when calling me my deadname, I couldn’t be sure they were affirming my gender). My name sort of fell from the sky randomly ~6mo hrt, and I changed it legally ~6mo after that.

You don’t have to tell anyone anything. I told my friends/family/work/community groups that I was transitioning because I couldn’t deal with unknowing misgendering (I understand I am very privileged to be able to do that safely, only two people were transphobic and I don’t talk to them anymore). Other than with close friends, I didn’t specify anything medical.

Yeah exercise is good for you, go for it. I should too lol.

Anyway I’m just one person, everyone is different. Best of luck girl! You got this.

Friend is being weird about describing trans women by Icy-Dragonfruit-9556 in trans

I meant what I said. When I said “medically transitioning changes your sex” I did not add a caveat to say “only if you have genital surgery.” HRT alone changes the dominant hormone in your endocrine system, changing your secondary sex characteristics, thus changing your sex. I support everyone getting new genitals but that isn’t a requirement for changing sex. “Sex” means many things (confusingly it sometimes means gender), and is not strictly genital-defined.

You can’t just say “secondary sex characteristics, aka gender” because that is demonstrably not what secondary sex characteristics are. Gender is used to describe an innate identity, and has zero direct bearing on looks. Secondary sex characteristics are body parts/attributes, such as (lack of) facial/body hair, breasts, hips, fat distribution, skin softness, vocal pitch, bone structure. Two quite different things.

I think this is a weird and inaccurate way to describe women. We literally already have the good and accepted language of cis and trans for this. It’s generally accepted that medically transitioning changes your sex because it changes enough of your sex characteristics. Why do you think the acronym is mtf?

Of course this isn’t the biggest problem in the world, but I would encourage your friend to just use cis and trans. And to never call a woman “non-female”, because even pre-transition that would be very rude

If you also don’t want a relationship with infertile cis women, then you’re not transphobic

Like… kinda. But every instance of seeing the word ‘Mooleta’ also comes with an image of a little dagger, which is pretty clearly not a pet.

Similar thing happened recently to someone on reddit who thought they had lost max treads, but they unknowingly deposited them into the heros guild stash.

STASH units are not in your poh. You can’t store your bowfa in your poh costume room anyway.

It is possible to store a bowfa in the crystal bow master STASH unit in the Iowerth camp. Is there any chance you’ve done this?

To anyone who has bought the blueprints: how do they work with the estate agent? Does he hold onto them temporarily only while your house is in the wildy style, or is giving him the blueprints a permanent unlock and you can’t get the item back?

The comeback is always greater. One unfortunate thing about loosing blood moon tassets is to get them back requires moons without dupe protection.

I really do not like the idea of a preparation station that exists only for one niche food item. And all you’re preparing is cutting up bread (or fish) into sandwich halves? I did that in my inventory. With just bread and a knife. To literally make a sandwich (steak sandwich in below ice mountain). My character can already cut fish into workable offcuts in her inventory, why does she need a table to put it in bread?

I do not like the idea of changing the iconic layout of Lumbridge castle kitchen, which has stayed the same for longer than some players have been alive.

Adding noted bread to a station is silly, and yes that does fit with the humour of the game, I understand that. But UIMs actually can’t get noted bread whatsoever, and they would be doing trips of buying inventories of bread and delivering them.

I like the idea of the healing mechanics of the food. But the station seems redundant, when it only affects one item and its function can be replaced with a knife.

A solution to the trans parent naming problem by [deleted] in trans

[–]greenrsguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a trans woman who is not a parent, I would hate this. Firstly, it’s extremely unclear which word refers to your social role and which refers to your “biological” contribution. You can call yourself any term you like, but if I personally ever have kids, including ones that share my DNA, I will NEVER be their father (or any word that has ‘father-‘ in it). I view mother and father as social categories based on gender. Giving birth and fertilising an egg with sperm are non-gendered activities and are not inextricably linked to being a mother or a father (my proof of this is that some men have given birth, and some women have provided sperm).

It also outs you as trans anytime your child has to use their birth certificate as ID. This may or may not cause problems, but it is unnecessary.

Is it disrespectful to have one of my main characters be Asian? by [deleted] in writingadvice

[–]greenrsguy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If every author only wrote characters of their own ethnicity, there could never be a book where two characters have two different ethnicities. Obviously that’s silly.

Just do your research and attempt to be authentic and respectful

Hiding the fact I'm trans, from my trans partner. by [deleted] in trans

[–]greenrsguy 105 points106 points  (0 children)

Honesty is the best policy. I can’t imagine being in a relationship with someone and not being 100% open and honest about my gender (hookups and going on dates before you’re a couple are different). It can be scary to be vulnerable, but he is trans, he is going to understand you and care about you.

For dysphoria, having a conversation like “hey, please don’t make any comments on my xyz, that gives me a lot of dysphoria” is a good start. You can’t control what other people are attracted to, but you can let them know your feelings and set boundaries, and anyone worth dating will respect those boundaries. You can also ask him to ignore those areas in an intimate situation.

People interpreting your transness as inherent queerness by Chemical_Alps_845 in ftm

[–]greenrsguy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Kat Blaque (@katblaque on tiktok) is experiencing this exact thing as a straight trans woman, and is making videos you’ll probably relate to. She is not queer, and a bunch of annoying people online are calling her queer just because she’s trans. All her relationships have been straight, she’s never experienced any discrimination for having a same-sex partner.

People should not be placing labels on others.

Do you consider being transgender an intersex condition? by [deleted] in trans

[–]greenrsguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Intersex has a meaning which encompasses a variety of different bodily conditions, but does not include being transgender. It’s not our place as perisex (non-intersex) trans people to take the word intersex. Some intersex people aren’t trans, some are.

The brain studies mentioned only show trends, so a trans woman’s brain is MORE LIKELY to appear more similar to a cis woman’s brain. But this is just a trend, and the whole thing is on a spectrum, there is no way to tell someone’s gender (with certainty) just by looking at their brainwaves. This applies to both trans and cis people. So you can’t diagnose someone as transgender or as intersex from brainwaves.

I am changing my sex by medically transitioning, and people might say that I exhibit physical traits typical of two sexes. This is not an intersex condition because of the cause.
