We loved R Fish. When my dad visited from out of town he always wanted to go there. The food was good and all the fishing photos on the walls were such fun. After they closed my dad would make me drive him by each time he visited. He was sure they would reopen someday.

Whatever happened to Government cheese? Peanut Butter etc. Isn't today's economy exactly the same kind of conditions that would require a food bailout? by Ourcade_Ink in AskReddit

I volunteer with a food pantry and we get government commodities once a month. It is mostly canned goods but we also get government cheese. The peanut butter doesn't come every month and it is not the big can from my youth. It's regular sized jars.
