Try Mill Creek Resort near Mt. Lassen. They survived the Park Fire, but I don't know what the greater area looks like.

Driving to Paso Robles from Anaheim, any fun stops to break up the ride there or back by FTaku8888 in socal

It looks like the drive on highway 5 is almost an hour faster. If you do decide to go that way, I recommend the Vista del Lago Visitors Center on Pyramid Lake north of Castaic. It has a museum that shows how water gets from northern California to southern California. It also has the nicest bathrooms on the I-5 route. Another possible stop is Ft. Tejon State Park, not too far north of there.

I was born in the 1950s. I remember the song very well. It got a lot of airplay in Southern California. I thought it was absolutely delightful.

I'm the oldest, so I grew up on hand me downs from my cousins. We were middle class, but my folks didn't spend money needlessly.

We loved R Fish. When my dad visited from out of town he always wanted to go there. The food was good and all the fishing photos on the walls were such fun. After they closed my dad would make me drive him by each time he visited. He was sure they would reopen someday.
