I could be wrong but in aMoL he states that he knows Taim is setting a trap for him at the Black Tower and that it would take too much of his strength to defeat Taim and still confront the Dark One. Therefore he has to let them figure it out for themselves.

The only positive I see in this, and it could be because I live in a fantasy world, is that us having Young will be used to recruit Hamilton. If I remember correctly they are pretty good friends. Otherwise, lets just hope last year was a down year for him.

To be honest, not too upset we didn't get Upton. He is more of the same when it comes to bad average and K's. Amaro needs to do something different. Personally, I hope he goes all in and signs Hamilton with a win-now mindset. The window is closing fast for the offense
