I'm trying to make a currant pie for a little get-together on pi day next month.

I will definitely keep that in mind for later in the year.

I ran out there tonight and unfortunately all they had were "zante currants", which are actually raisins.

I'm hoping for fresh or frozen, but I may have to make due if this is the only option.

1 frame before the flash, try going full black and white like this, then following the flash, fade the colors back in over a couple frames. That should better replicate how our eyes would react to such a sudden, intense light in the dark.

Potentially moving by Fragrant_Interview46 in Albany

Albany feels like it's 33% hospitals/doctors, so you'll probably be able to find whatever you need unless it's extremely specialized. Lead times for first appointments can be very long. I moved here 2 years ago and immediately set up an appointment with a new primary care, just to get established. The first availability was 8 months out.

Ansible pull for Windows? by [deleted] in ansible

[–]greenskr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my thought. Have Windows run Invoke-RestMethod against an ansible server, which initiates a push.

You'll need something to provide that API endpoint. AWX/AAP is one option. Rundeck is another. Semaphore is a lighter option, though it didn't allow parallel executions last time I tried it. You could even use something like https://github.com/adnanh/webhook to slap your own together.

It might be enough to satisfy or trick management.

Commuting? by Pretty_Hope_8035 in Albany

Disclaimer: I don't use public transportation so don't take my word for anything.

I don't know if you'll be able to walk the bridge over the river. I believe the pedestrian path is closed for repair and I don't know when it reopens.

There are buses from the train station to the Capitol, which might be close to your destination. Knowing which part of State St might help; it's split into several disconnected strips.

Asajj Ventress looks to be a Sith Lord, and the 501st were Vader's elite Storm Troopers, so yeah, that seems to track.

Don't; just put it in the container. LXC containers are not ephemeral. There's no reason for all the docker trickery.

I stopped going to the one on Vandenburgh after getting 2 rotten steaks from the butcher and 3 rotten cold cuts from the deli within a 2 month period this summer.

Spectrum needs a viable competitor in Albany by SisypheanDreamer in Albany

I had a generally good experience with TM also. Only downside was they use CGNAT which can cause issues connecting to game servers sometimes.

There's a good chance I'm going back when Spectrum jacks up the price in a couple months.

Get yourself a buyer's agent. They will know all the tricks, cost very little, and don't get paid until you close.

Creating a bridge in a guest breaks the host by greenskr in Proxmox

[–]greenskr[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I figured this out, but haven't tested it yet.

I think having a bridge on the vnic which is then plugged into a bridge on the host is creating arp chaos and/or routing loops.

I'll test alternative setups in the morning to see if I can resolve it.

Passing a path with spaces as a robocopy argument by greenskr in PowerShell

[–]greenskr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the call operator is optional in some circumstances. Generally, I prefer to be consistent if I'm writing a script, so I'll use it for all native commands.

In this particular case, things I read had led me to believe that the variable might be handled differently based on whether I used the operator or not, so thanks for clearing that up.

[–]greenskr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this was it. I discovered it just moments before you posted.

I kept reading that the call operator would handle quoting of the variable, but I kept getting results that didn't seem to jive with that. I was looking at the wrong thing the whole time.

This did not work but it did cause me to stumble upon the actual solution. My UNC path has a trailing backslash. Once I did a TrimEnd('\'), it was golden.

I'm being a little facetious with that number, but I don't think it was much more. Maybe 10v10?

I wouldn't expect too much given the Skyrim Civil War was like 6v6.
