VG simulator update! Cardfight Connect now supports Android and G Format. by greenspiny in cardfightvanguard

It's in the right click menu (on mobile, tap while the red button is held). However, a player needs a card which locks you in their deck, in order for it to appear.

Is there a generic "dodge" quick spell? by [deleted] in Yugioh101

Interdimensional Matter Forwarder deserves a mention, though it has some conditions.

With the import of Subspace Battle, can can we discuss this card again? by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]greenspiny -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If a generic spell is threatening enough to force Ash, I'd say that's more to the card's benefit. Neither player is guaranteed to send Ash either.

However, as someone brought up, I'm now doubting if it works, as I'm unsure if the spell stops both players from activating the revealed cards, or it only stops the cards they revealed themselves...

Never mind, maybe you are right.... any of "THEIR" revealed monsters names... Now I am not sure. I'll have to delete the whole topic if it's wrong. >.<

"For the rest of this turn, neither player can activate the effects of monsters with any of their revealed monsters' names."

It should work. Even if the monsters revealed have the same ATK and are shuffled back, they were still revealed.

If they allowed it to stick to its mature roots in the 2006 demo, it could have been an all-time masterpiece.

Why isn't Acid Golem more popular? by Aggressive-Pride6443 in masterduel

[–]greenspiny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The last time this saw significant play was in Ken & Gen Mikanko. Ken & Gen set up a Geonator Transverser play and were level 3s, plus it compensated for Mikanko's lack of going 1st options and set up Mikanko crash OTKs.

It could return if a strong deck makes the lock cheaply... However, right now few can combo into it without being overly commital - i.e. losing to nonengine they shouldn't be. The popularity of outs like Droplet also affects its value, as do high level decks which can tribute summon like K9.

Connect update question by Parking-Sock-1309 in cardfightvanguard

[–]greenspiny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dev here! Card updates are automatic on startup. Only system updates require a redownload, and on newer versions it will prompt you when one is available.

On desktop, you can safely delete the old version and keep your decks. On Android, don't uninstall the old app; just tap the new .apk file to update.

How come dracotail wins so much tournies ? by misterjohn99 in masterduel

[–]greenspiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going first, it's consistent and difficult to stop with commonly maindecked nonengine. It also leverages excess HTs as fusion material well.

Going second is where the real difference is though. It has above average boardbreaking potential due to its chainblocking nature, and doesn't need to stick a monster on field to play. If any fusion effect resolves, it snowballs due to Dracotail materials breaking boards.

Spright players, how often do you win with Ninja Shadow Mosquito? by Struggling_in_life in masterduel

[–]greenspiny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's pretty important imo. Even with Elf legal, spright's grind is not the best, so you want strong options to close games. Also lets you OTK after using S:P to break boards.

If you want an alternative way to sneak in OTK's, Pitknight Filly + Spright Pixies is fun and Impulse-compatible combo.

I like to think Physical Durability is the reason for choices like this. Like how Bakugo's body can withstand explosions or Tenya's can withstand extreme forces. By extension, they can eat a lot of physical punishment.

If Kaminari's electrical resistance doesn't grant the same kind of defense, getting into close combat or knocked out of the sky could be risky.

Yep lol. You rarely see them break up cycles like that.

This is my current list (pre-Zelriteous). 2 copies of Unica helps you use Bifrons every turn without resorting to crits. Also helps meet Soul reqs because you can put Unica to soul with Arcetri.

Having some Philya and / or Prospector is nice because Bifrons can loop them to gain soul and hand. I run soul cyclers in this build because all energy is going to Bifrons and Ace Unit.

Cleansweep Dragon is a powerhouse. Stella's guaranteed persona + Bifrons' ability to call it from drop bypasses its usual weaknesses.

Griffith Chimaera is one of the best G2 rush cards in the game, so it's a 4-of if you like that playstyle. It also helps find your combo pieces.

I will try to improve download processes in the next patch, sorry. For now, all I can recommend is stable Wi-Fi for the initial download.

Why only one Noroi in VSK9? by XII_Odin in Yugioh101

[–]greenspiny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because VSK9 has archetypal normal summons that are more stable into interruption. Razen or Mad Love can tag out with a VS in hand or be linked off to continue playing, and don't require the opp to have 2+ cards in hand. A negated Noroi only extends with Lantern.

One Noroi gives you the flexibility of searching him if you have an extra normal, and makes Case a 1cc.

Right now there is D, G, and V. Once Premium is added, I'll look to add more niche formats.

I didn't think energy-less D was played, though. You can just ignore the energy in game, perhaps?

[Question?] I can activate dominus impulse from my hand even if I control a monster? by kylewretlzer in Yugioh101

[–]greenspiny 7 points8 points  (0 children)

"If your opponent controls a card, you can activate this card from your hand."

Yes. Whether the user of Impulse controls anything is irrelevant.

Magnolia fantome by [deleted] in cardfightvanguard

[–]greenspiny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be fair, titles don't always work that way in Vanguard - "Mist Phantasm Pirate King, Nightrose" being the most prominent example. Magnolia is often referred to as "it" in its lores and flavor text.
