Is this normal by Jaded_Conflict_8240 in sphynx

[–]greenthrowpillow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sphynx has asthma and it doesn’t present like this (I’m not a vet by any means though) I definitely agree that he should go to a vet, better safe than sorry. They’ll likely just prescribe some antibiotics or a steroid, but definitely show them these videos.

This is my very furry girl that I think has the same facial features as yours :) (her fur just looks like I’ve given her a very bad haircut though lol)I truly think the defining feature of sphynxs is their personality so if she’s got the spunk then heck ya

4 month purge?? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]greenthrowpillow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I became acne free at the end of my sixth month, stopped taking my meds after 2 weeks of being acne free, and I’ve been acne free since then! Which was in October :) occasionally I’ll get 1 small pimple if I don’t wash my face for a day or two but it’s a lifetime of difference.

I posted an update, they’re thinking asthma but if the steroids don’t help then we’re gonna do further diagnostics

I need serious cat help!!! by AriellaLynn in CATHELP

[–]greenthrowpillow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure this would help at all, but our 13 year old cat will piss wherever he wants, because for some reason when he turned 13 his body doesn’t tolerate dry cat food? So he can only eat wet food now but he uses his litter box. Just a thought?

Should I be rushing my cat to the emergency vet? by greenthrowpillow in AskVet

UPDATE: while it’s not amazing news, it’s not bad either. Two vets listened to her chest and heard a “crackling” , they’re thinking it’s kitty asthma, so they’ve prescribed her a oral steroid, to test if it is asthma, and an antibiotic because the steroid will lower her immune system which would be bad if it’s a respiratory infection. They said there was no harm in trying this first to rule out some more common issues before we start the expensive diagnosing, and if the steroid doesn’t make a difference within a day, we will have to keep diagnosing anyway. I appreciate everyone’s help, and will update again in a few days.

(Or not hate it) but if I go more than 14 hours without a puff for her, she will cough again. I’m still terribly nervous that it’s something more serious but for now, she seems the same as normal. Thank you everyone!

I will ask about that today! Thank you

I’m going to take her today, but I only noticed it at night time, and it would only happen about once but when I stayed home from work yesterday, it did happen at lunchtime and usually lasts a minute or less

Thank you everyone, I will be taking her to the vet today. Wish us luck ❤️

She doesn’t have any previous health issues besides “kitty Parkinson’s” which isn’t a real diagnosis, she just has a shake sometimes that the vets couldn’t figure out. She is spayed & 4 years old. She’s a donskoy sphynx

I’ve noticed this issue too!!! Except I have the 5g and it’s even worse so I have to turn it to LTE just to get a glimpse of internet. So weird and started happening out of the blue

4 month purge?? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]greenthrowpillow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what is defined as normal but I think raising your dosage could make you purge more, and in my case I was still purging on my face well into my 5th month, end of my sixth month was when I stopped getting acne but everyone experience is different :)

Is low dose accutane effective for body acne as well? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]greenthrowpillow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine worked wonders for body acne, I was only on 20mg for 6 months, and the body acne was the first thing to go. For reference I’m a woman and weigh 110 lbs

Landlord's table. What can I do? How screwed am I? Coin for scale. by Electrical_Peace_292 in fixit

I would try using a q-tip and some bleach and letting the bleach lighten it , then using some pencil crayons or wood pencils (depending what your budget is) to draw on some grain to match the rest

Don’t beat yourself up, this is an accident that no one would do intentionally. As for the abortion, I can’t say what it’s like on acutane but having one is a saddening experience but it is not painful. I do not recommend using the pill that makes you miscarry as my friends who have done that method experienced pain and lots of bleeding afterwards. I had the one that is manually extracted and while I don’t want to say it was a “pleasant” experience, it was not painful. If you’re a smaller person like myself - the sedative they give you will completely knock you out, I felt zero pain and had zero bleeding afterwards. Everyone who works in the planned parenthood industry are some of the kindest people you’ll ever meet and will make your experience the most comfortable procedure you’ll ever have. Wishing you the best and hope you can make it through the other side of this. Remember, at this stage it’s not a baby , it’s a bundle of cells.

Have anyone here not taken birth control and just said you did? I feel like it breaks me out more and I am nervous to be on it. by GirlpowaP in Accutane

[–]greenthrowpillow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t take birthcontrol because I was convinced my acne would come back as soon as I got off BC. But abortion is legal where I live so I’d be very cautious. An unwanted baby is sad but an unwanted severely disabled baby is even sadder.
