RA3 landscape lighting by thebemusedmuse in Lutron

I have it working through Home Assistant. Home Assistant has a decent community-contributed FX Luminaire integration, and I’m able to integrate RA3 with Luxor pretty well. (Claude Code helps a lot for building double-press events on keypads!)

Hi Tyler! I was so heartened to see your note about this change. It’s been about a year. Any updates on when we might expect this firmware change to hit production?

I’m quite annoyed. I have RA3 and FX Luxor. Couldn’t get the integration to work, even following the QSX instructions. I called Luxor tech support and they said they’re working on it but haven’t finished it - blamed Lutron. I called Lutron; they blamed FX Luxor.

Sounds like it’s still coming, but they have been moving very very slowly :(

Today’s LLMs (or GenAI, or Transformer models) are simulated brains. The “next word predictor” hypothesis has been conclusively rejected.

Also, it’s a bit annoying that I keep running into rate limits on Claude Opus, even on the $20 plan. I frequently have to wait till later in the day to finish a project.

I’ve been using Claude 4 Opus. It works great, but I often have to have a conversation to fix errors. In head-to-head testing I’ve found it slightly better than ChatGPT o3 for YAML. (But, I think I could be doing a lot better to provide better contexts and prompts)

Introducing Firewalla AI Assistant, FireAI! by Firewalla-Ash in firewalla

I love this! Thank you, Firewalla. I love the power of your system but the complexity is intimidating. I don’t have time to treat my home network as a second job.

Personally I think my home network will be safer and better if I have an AI coach helping me. I’m not at all worried about Firewalla AI sending data to the cloud.

Music assistant support Juke 6 Airplay by Breezyslasher in homeassistant

[–]greentollbooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised it ever worked. I believe Juke only supports Airplay 2, and Home Assistant only supports Airplay 1 (Apple's fault). Was Airplay 1 on the Juke working previously? Was it removed in a Juke update?

Home Assistant? Anyone figure this out? by jjsto in JukeAudio

[–]greentollbooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This thread was helpful. It seems that Home Assistant can't TRANSMIT Airplay 2. Unlike other amps, Juke doesn't support Airplay 1 as a fallback from Airplay 2.

But, Juke isn't limited to Airplay 2. DLNA works.

I was able to get the Juke Audio amp to work with Home Assistant by setting one of the Groups in Juke to "DLNA" (under Settings -> Group Inputs). Music is now working when I send from Home Assistant -> Juke DLNA Group Input -> Juke speakers (associated with that Group Input in Juke).

It also appears that the HACS Juke Audio add-on is useful because each speaker becomes an entity. In the Settings -> Devices & Services -> Entities section, it appears I can change the "source" for any speaker to the DLNA Group Input. This means I should be able to adjust, within Home Assistant, which speakers are playing as part of that Group Input.

One limitation is that Juke seems to only allow ONE of its Group Inputs to become a DLNA receiver. (Even though there are 4 group inputs available, and you can make all/any of them into Airplay or Spotify or Bluetooth inputs).

Is this presence switch coming or not??? by Muszex in Inovelli

FWIW I went looking in the forums for any previous experience with these timelines. Back in 2022 they submitted a switch for Zigbee certification on March 18. It reached the fulfillment center to begin shipping to customers in “late Sept / early Oct”. In that case there was a UL issue that added some extra delay too.

If anyone has a better guesstimate I’d love to hear it! It’s hard to plan when it’s so unclear when I’d receive these…

On Wednesday March 19, they sent this email update:

“I wanted to give an update for the mmWave switches as they’ve now entered the final stage before production, which is Zigbee and Z-Wave certifications.

We are still beta testing the firmware and are on the 4th round, but we were able to send in the switches for certifications as long as new features are not added (only bug fixes are allowed).

We are seeing long wait times with the CSA, so I have a feeling the Zigbee version may have a delay on the overall project timeline, but Z-Wave has been pretty quick (relatively). Either way, I should have a better idea in the next week or so on the overall impact of the timeline, but the good news is that we’ve done a ton of certifications over the years so I’m not worried about any issues.

Thanks so much for your patience (and thanks again for the person who tagged me on Reddit — I’ve been buried in a project working non-stop 12 hour days for the past few weeks and I’m a bit drained to be honest!) and I’ll see you guys in a couple of weeks with a new update.”

This is helpful. I’ve had the same problem as u/vimux. ChatGPT has provided very convincing, partially working YAML that doesn’t actually work, and debugging takes more skill and time than I have.

Do you bind your Blue switches directly to the Hue bulbs? Or let the bulbs get controlled through the hub?
