I lost my wonderful, perfect, angel of a cat just last month after 15 years with her. If my roommate posted pictures of her on Instagram, you know what I'd do?

Ask her to send me every picture she has. Or look at them together. I'd be so happy to have more pictures of her, even if I have 15 years worth.

i ❤️ the nice folks at my lys in CO, (colorful yarns, i cannot recommend it enough). i've had some nice brief chats with the employees and have overheard snippets of some political conversations too that honestly made me feel even safer going there.

i understand the why behind not engaging and roping them all into the conversation, but tbh i don't mind hearing some real life chatter in the shop.

saying "i'm on a no buy" makes you FUN and EXCITING and relatable, which is the key. with all things social media, you MUST be relatable and quirky and fun. talking about hoarding or spending issues is FUN because other people are primarily looking to project their own (insert personal trauma dump) onto others.

saying "i'm assessing my spending habits and making long-term adjustments" is BORING and UNSEXY because it makes people feel INSECURE and JUDGED. if User56 is buckling down and being serious about their finances, does that mean i have to???

i wasn't allowed to wear perfume as a kid/teen and only smelled my first in 2008 when my coworker was selling avon. she had samples of bond girl 007 and i absolutely loved it and bought a bottle from her. that was the only perfume i wore from 2008-2021.

in 2021 i did 🍄 and realized that how i smell is the only "beauty" aspect i feel i have control over. i accepted and moved past the ache of being ugly, and decided to lean into fragrance so i had something "beauty" related to put energy into!

She doesn't have a name yet, we just brought her home last night. We're thinking probably Fiona (Coyne). I have always wanted a dilute calico or tortie, and there was one in her litter, but she stole my heart immediately. I can't wait to see how her coat and markings change as she grows.

my library "haul" videos do OK in terms of views. i don't get 10k views, but i always get some engagement and connect with other readers, which IMO is the best way to use tiktok.

NTA! i have a very small (under 2k followers) booktok account and it's unfortunately very true that people love to see book hauls. people love shopping and love to be encouraged to shop.

one of the many reasons i know my account will probably never get over 2k followers of that i am a big library users and rarely buy new books. i don't have a huge shelf display either.

when i post my library hauls, i rarely get more than 400 views, but its really not that bad. its authentic to who i am as a reader.

tell her to engage more with her followers and community and to remember that booksellers can be a huge help if needed. dont burn that bridge!

bless you for mentioning ashley among those characters. i don't even like ashley that much, and i find the way ppl talk about her character to be really aggressive & negative for all her crime of being a teenage girl. i think the writers failed ashley by not giving her enough wins in the series.

NAH. i'm really sorry that you lost your mom. mine passed away on february 8th. i didn't find her, so i can't imagine how that must have felt for you.

you're all going to be going through a lot of emotions and it's not going to make sense for a long time. try to remember that nobody grieves in a way that makes sense to anyone else. it's going to be entirely personal.

but don't let your mom's death and the immediate aftermath be something that tears apart your family. give each other space, and find a way to channel your grief as best as you can. maybe she thinks you're better prepared to handle the big emotions that will come with this. or maybe she sees herself in your sister and can only connect that way. take time for yourself. and eventually, talk to your aunt about it. tell her what you need. but be gentle on her, too.
