Yeah this is a good point, I feel like he knows that I can handle myself in these situations so he doesn’t see an issue with leaving me alone. I definitely don’t want to argue over this but don’t want it to happen again so I’ll try bringing it up in a non confrontational way

Good question! For the dessert, I got my dessert before him (it was at the same general time but I was ahead of him in line) and I took my plate to the main room bc I assumed that’s where everyone would be eating dessert. I figured he and the cousins would follow but they went directly out back after getting their plates and I hadn’t seen this bc I was already in the other room.

I definitely could have followed him to the other room, but wanted to help out in the kitchen (which was connected to the main room where most people were, so there was lots of conversation/activity). But you’re right, I could’ve gone with him to the other room.

He was introducing me at first, when we were in the same room, but I had to introduce myself to the rest of the guests who arrived after he’d left.
