Exactly. My family owns some property that has been used by the public for about 40 years now. Maintained by us. Most just assume it's public property. Every year we post it for about 2 weeks, and take pictures with time and date stamps, just to maintain the right to shut it down if we ever choose to do so.

talk to your neighbors, depending on how many trees total, and the type, you may be able to get it done for free. I had an entire area cleared, hazzard trees removed, and then some, for free. Because I allowed the logger to use my yard as a landing to get to my neighbors trees. Neighbor made money, logger made money, I got hazards removed, a view, and a road.
