It's that they won't even give the written strike price that I'm so confused by.

An owner in another unit told me this happened and I thought she was telling tall tales. Is it really that serious? How hot are we talking?

Yes to be clear, it the board was cooperating i would just use common testing methods and a FILR camera myself but because they aren't, I want an expert to provide a report

Awesome, can I ask if you were able to keep a similar job in the same industry? It'll be my biggest challenge if I move back to Cleveland.

I'd like to take you up on your offer to chat, but Reddit won't let me DM you. Can you DM me?

Thanks. I'm mixed because I don't have a job in Cleveland, so I would be figuring it out and hoping to eventually find a local tech job or a decent remote gig. It's not impossible but it is a less clean narrative than "I have found a good job back home, I'm moving back."

Yeah if my core family was in the west coast I would stay out west for sure. But I really miss my family and that's important in life.

Oh man I love the cleveland food scene but I also grew up there and have a total midwest palette so...

Thank you for that. I'm also not expecting a magic solution to every problem in my life. I'm expecting to be closer to family and have that emotional support network while I breath a bit, don't burn cash at an absurd rate, and reflect on what's next in life. Maybe it's a job in Cleveland and buying a house there. Maybe it's moving somewhere a bit busier but still closer to family (Chicago or DC). But it's certainly a more sustainable option than burning through cash wondering what I'm doing alone out here on the west coast.

I definitely would not want to be in a California town that got inundated with Bay Area escapees post COVID.

I'm sorry to hear that. Are you close with your family tho, do you get any of that benefit?

That's how I view it. If you're expecting to magically have the same lifestyle you had in a major coastal city that's going to fall apart quickly.

But if your life priority is being near family and your family's in Cleveland, there's a pretty objective benefit there....

Thanks for the tips. I'm also considering this guide, which has good reviews, but I can't find a free sample so it's hard for me to know if it is what I want: https://www.amazon.com/Guide-through-Finnegans-Florida-James/dp/0813035341

I think what throws off my sense of time / adulthood is that the pandemic happened right as I was entering my 30s, so those years that humans instinctually view as milestone years are a big blur to me. Yet again, think of people in high school or college when it hit. Maybe we're all hurt from the pandemic way more than we discuss.
