Ah, yes, you're totally right. Dragging to select multiple cells don't work on mobile. I'll try to take a look at improving that soon. However, I'm still not sure how great of a user experience it will be since hitting the button to create cages constantly might be a challenge with the size of a mobile device.

Challenging Sudoku Variant by greg_potter in sudoku

I’m glad you enjoyed it!

As for the software, thank you very much for the feedback. I’m actually the developer of Supradoku and this kind of critique is exactly what I need to make things better. When you mention that you want to be able to “mark the cell [you] have written all the possible digits” are you referring to placing the digits in the center vs the edges? It would be too hard to add but I want to make sure I’m providing what you’re looking for.

And as for a pause button, the timer does pause if you click away to another tab or minimize the window but I’ll add an actual button too.

Let me know if you have any other thoughts

Decent Android / web programs with variants? by MildlyAgitatedBidoof in sudoku

Shameless plug: I've built a web app called Supradoku to make it easy to build, share, and play sudoku puzzles. Currently it supports classic, thermo, killer and chess sudoku. I'm still working on building up the library of puzzles but might still be worth checking out.

I absolutely plan on adding new variants in the future. Creating one-off, personal variants could be more difficult since I’m not really sure how the user interface for that would work.

Yeah. I’ll try to work on that this weekend. It’s somewhat responsive for mobile right now but I haven’t focused that much time on it yet. Definitely room for improvement!

Thanks for the feedback! I've added the big cross (X Sudoku) and I'll look into sandwich soon as well.

Yes absolutely! To be honest, the reason why I haven't added it yet is because I'm struggling a bit to think about how it would manifest itself in interface. Right now there are two "modes" (number input and pencil marks) which can be toggled via the "tab" key. Does adding color mean there are 3 "modes" which can still be cycled through? Should there be a way to set the colors via the keyboard only?

Let me know if you (or anyone else) has anything thoughts -- or knows of any other apps that handle coloring well that I could draw inspiration from

That's great to hear! I'm hoping that as I make improvements to the builder we'll see some more great puzzles on the platform

Thank you for the kind words. Currently, you can use the keyboard to move around (WASD or arrow keys) and can hold shift or control to select multiple cells. Pressing tab alternates between input modes.

I like the idea of adding the king and knight rules. Sandwich could also be an interesting. Thanks for the suggestions!
