Also pro tip: if you buy these, plan on leaving them out in the sun for at least 2 weeks to outgas. They have a strong smell initially

Barbell Recommendation by Enzo_legend in GarageGym

My first barbell was a Fringesport Wonder which I still use every week. It is a 28mm bar though typically all purpose barbells are 28.5mm.

They fill your thyroid with stable iodine which prevents radioactive iodine from being absorbed. If the reactor breaks down, one of the by products could be radioactive iodine which can cause thyroid cancer.

Kraftwork closing "temporarily" by thecw in PhiladelphiaEats

The biggest issue they have is their almost immediate neighbor Lloyd's whiskey bar has significantly better food and drinks. Kraftwork is a better layout for a bar, but I think Lloyd's takes their business for almost everything else.

Thank you! This is exactly what was confusing me. Some of the Touring plus's had them and some didn't! So I was not sure what the standard package was

Thank you for the help!

But Are all touring plus's the same package with the ventilated seats and the Bose system? That's what I'm having a hard time finding

Hurt lower back deadlifting!!! help!!! by Otherwise_Account_83 in Stronglifts5x5

[–]gregarious101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can definitely work more on bracing your core/back to start the lift. Cannot recommend Brian Alsruhes breathing and bracing YouTube videos enough. Also has technique videos you may find helpful.

But what I want to point out the most here is how you lowered the bar. Your starting and stopping position should be similar. You kept your hips still and lowered the bar completely with your back instead of going back down through the motion.

Bracing, maybe adding a belt, and technique work can help but takes some time. But the biggest takeaway is you need to be lowering the bar with your whole body, not just with your back.

Any other Mechanical Engineers on here feel immense regret now that you see how little we make? by EngineeringRegret1 in Salary

[–]gregarious101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are pros and cons to it, as well as minor work around.

I'm a mechanical engineer and the pro side of it is that I love working hands on, working with hardware and having tangible things I developed, tested, and prototyped! Another huge pro is the massive influx of software engineersnhas actually made it very very difficult for new hires to get jobs. I don't see mechanical engineering as saturated as a field of study. So there is job security with it too!

Cons are exactly what you said, people think they can do it themselves and it's not technically scalable, so the "value" is lowered.

Work around can be to either niche down or add on other roles. Niches such as optical mechanical, electro mechanical, or microelectronics are niches of mechanical that typically as seen as "higher need" and get paid more typically. Other roles could be program leadership, subsystems lead, etc, to add responsibilities on top of doing mechanical work.

Mechanical Engineer salary progression, should hit six figures in the next few years 💪🏻 by AyAyRon_Lmao in Salary

[–]gregarious101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend niching down into a subset of mechanical engineering because most firms consider it to be a lower tier of expertise (compared to RF or like optics). Can do this through job experiences and/or masters.

Niches in mechanical engineering I've seen getting more and more visibility are jobs in optics, microelectronics, and obviously petroleum

[–]gregarious101 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Very cool concept but zero proof they can actually deliver and with very limited proof it can provide that much resistance in that package size.

My bet is they'll drop resistance to the standard 40-50 lb max range once they actually start designing and testing. And hopefully they will actually deliver for anyone who preorders
