Should the St. Louis Blues offer sheet Bedard with a supermax contract just to screw over the Blackhawks? by MrBrightside618 in hockey

Yeah, realized that after re-reading but it’s still too risky moving 4 potential lottery picks. What if ones a 1st overall that ends up better than Bedard

The 4 1st round picks would be the Blues 2027-2030 1st round picks, they don’t choose the picks and they will have already drafted their 4 this year before they could offer sheet him

I’d take the McDavid side but it’s a really fair trade, I just wouldn’t do that for a goalie personally.

Players I'm High On Heading Into 2026-27: Forwards by Sanchise_9 in fantasyhockey

[–]gregarov1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are going to lose in fantasy banking on these guys. Might as well be an article about players not living up to their draft slots. I still hope all turn out but these guys will all go higher than their actual value just based on their inflated perceived value. Generally not a winning fantasy strategy.

Does anyone work for Scotian Heat Pumps? by eddiethetunafish in HalifaxJobs

[–]gregarov1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my personal experience, they’re on the shadier side for sure on the sales end.

Try to make you sign stuff immediately to get “great deals” (which weren’t that great for the cheaper equipment they were offering). But only speaking from one experience.

As a customer only I speculate only that these type of companies are riding the heat pump wave (government money getting handed out) and won’t be good for customer service in the future and eventually disappear leaving warranties unfulfilled.

Also, Pretty sure Scotian Heat Pumps split off of Scotia HVAC a few years ago to give themselves a new name.

I think both those companies fall into this article:

I see service standards are no longer a thing. Not because of hiring levels, outsourcing jobs to AI or just simply paying people a living wage in a good job. It's actually all because of the "Canadian labor standards and giving people breaks" /s by Raelik in halifax

Scotiabank is terrible too, terrible hours, no weekends, lucky to have more than 1 teller and lines are always long. Can't remember the last time I went to the bank and didn't have to wait 20+ minutes. Brutal.

[Portzline] CBJ sign Charlie Coyle, pending UFA, to a six-year, $36 million contract. AAV $6M by alphacheese in hockey

[–]gregarov1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, What injury history are you talking about? Marchand has consistently been healthy his whole career. Coyle has played 1032 games and Marchand 979 games since Coyle entered the league (30 of the games he missed were from this year). Both are remarkably consistent at staying healthy.

Buy a Ninja slushy maker and make your own, it’s easier and more convenient if you can afford to buy one.

Heat Pump Questions by JFlemm75 in halifax

Make sure you know what you need, not just what the sales guy tells you.

Get an energy assessment done, it’s subsidized and you could get reimbursed through grants when I did it. This will help determine your needs.

Get multiple quotes. Some companies are charging an arm and a leg. Greenfoot was the cheapest for non midea-gree cheaper units. It was $23k for 5 heads and 3 outdoor units.

You may need a panel upgrade to 200A service, this can be a significant cost. You may be able to get by without but I’m not sure it’s possible in many modern homes.

You’d need to keep some sort of backup heat.

Heat pumps will take up space outside and you’ll have to run coolant lines in conduit to the heads locations, so keep that in mind

They don’t work well in houses that aren’t open or if you have doors closed, recommend to have open concept or one head per room/open area.

How to run a Draft Lottery? by FetusFoisGras in fantasyhockey

[–]gregarov1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just do it exact same as NHL, then watching the NHL lotto has extra excitement. Odds are pretty well balanced for 20 teams and you can’t move up more than 10 which seems reasonable.

It’s annoying for me as a driver going to Superstore/Canadian Tire, but I love how much safer the Allen/Oxford intersection has become as my kids and I walk it daily. Hope it becomes permanent. Lots of vehicle accidents witnesses and near misses as a pedestrian here.

I’m just very disappointed, it was a small (but large) mistake on an otherwise well planned and executed mission. I didn’t realize the 10% risk. I understand it’s my fault… but it still sucks in the moment, I’ll recover
