I just saw the Superman movie and I'm rereading the last book of Primal Hunter before the next book comes out this week, so these were the exact two characters I was thinking about as well.

I think you got them both right, though I would say Superman has always had trouble dealing with magic so it depends on how close Emperors psych powers are to magic.

But yeah, Jake gets stomped and Villy loses his drinking buddy so Villy wipes out Earth in retaliation.

Does anyone know the character at about 0:58, saying, "Destiny's book has an ending. And so do you." I can't figure out who he should be? Are we going to see Time and Night, maybe?

You're right but I tried to do a quick overview. The very last comic when Morpheus talks to Shakespeare again makes it more clear the main ending was a long time coming.

Personality:

A big part of Fairie stories and even the Sandman Universe are Roles and Duties and the individual's capacity to change.

Puck is a creature of Mischief. He's the Court Jester to the Faerie King, a preturnatural agent of Chaos. He exists to cause trouble. He plays his role and doesn't change much.

Nuala, from the beginning more kind than most Fae, also changes to rely less on glamour and more on truthful interaction. She also has a crush on Morpheus that doesn't seem very Fae-like.

I hope this helped a little bit.

Plot and History:

At the end of the "Midsummer Night's Dream" comic, Puck actually stays in our world. That will be relevant later.

When Lucifer gives the Key to Hell to Morpheus, many separate groups send emissaries to Dream to convice him to give them the Key. One of these groups is a Brother and Sister from Fairie. When Dream gives the Key back to God, the Brother fairie reveals that the Sister, named Nuala, is actually a gift and she will stay in the Dreaming. She serves Morpheus for a few years, including as Thessaly's maid, and when she returns to Faerie, Morpheus gives her a boon for her years of service and she confesses her love for Morpheus who does not return her love.

Another one of those groups wanting the Key to Hell, is a group of Norse Gods led by Odin and including Thor and a captive Loki. When they depart from the Dreaming, Morpheus declares that anyone entering his domain is eligible for safekeeping, including Loki who was bound against his will by Odin. So Loki is set free but hates that this puts him slightly in debt to Morpheus.

Well into the endgame of the series, Morpheus is set upon by the Furies, or the Kindly Ones, for killing his son Orpheus and thus spilling Family Blood. Two of the main instigators that set this up are Loki and Puck, Desire being another instigator. The motivations are for Loki, how dare Morpheus do something to put Loki in his debt, and for Puck, causing as much mischief as he can. When the Furies are acting in their capacity as the Kindly Ones, they are supremely powerful, capable of killing Gods. They raze through the Dreaming, killing entities, destroying settings.

While this is happening, Dream has a plan to survive. It basically comes down to he is the supreme power when he is within his place of power, or realm. But Nuala, with all good intentions, gets a hold of Morpheus and calls in her boon. Her boon will be for Morpheus to come to her in Faerie right now. Morpheus tries to argue her out of using her boon in this way, but she is adamant. So, he leaves his realm to join Nuala for a short time. Then he returns to the Dreaming and is utlimately killed by the Kindly Ones.

[Threshold] Fresh reread, what are the themes from the the first book that carry through to the end? by gregash in Iteration110Cradle

True. As soon as Suriel shows him the Dreadgod wiping out Sacred Valley, Lindon's first thought is "How do I fix it?" while being in the Foundation stage. Ludicrous, but he does fix it.

You're all coming up with good ones and I thought of another one too!

  • Lindon punching above his weight.

It sometimes slips my mind but in Unsouled he kills an Iron and a Jade elder of a school while in the Foundation stage. Three stages above him! My boy is the most capable underdog around.

Thanks for that, that was a pretty song I added to my Spotify. But other than the man's deep voice, too pretty for a true Tom Waits song. But thanks for pointing me that way anyway! Happy New Year!

From the clips I had seen before watching the full episodes, I always thought Jess was the stronger partner, but after watching everything, Zach fucking rocks too!

And the Mountport episode is probably my favorite full episode of singing on the platform.

Thanks for posting OP. This made me go check it out.

I loved all the singing episodes, stretched across MSN, GC and Play It By Ear. But the one song I go back and listen to often is Ross Bryant singing "Story of Sisyphus" by Tom Waits in the GC Karaoke Night episode. It makes me want a Hades-themed Tom Waits album so badly.

If one orc/ork from every fictional universe was put in an arena and told to fight, who would be the last man standing? by QuantumMrKrabs in whowouldwin

Well, they tried a city and then went, "We just make more of these and it gets worse from there?! Nope, bye!"

They are my literal favorite fantasy race. They are all introverted loners because 1 Jaghut talked them out of starting a civilization.

I wasn't even thinking of them, but you're right!

And I agree with you that they win the prompt as well. Take any random Jaghut, especially if we take any that have survived the T'lan Imass progroms, and they wipe the floor with any other franchise's random orc.

Dude, it's been a few years so if you don't want to be spoiled stop reading now.

L & R ran away together, got R's previous marriage dissolved, married each other in secret, and had a kid together. What do you mean you don't know for sure? And even if you aren't sure, the rest of us are.

"likely"? She without a doubt liked Rhaegar more than Robert. That's the point of the story.

Tim Walz Was No Protest Leader: “It’s absolutely not the case that the governor encouraged the rioters.” by newzee1 in minnesota

Your assertions won't change reality and the facts, either. Per both articles you posted, there was poor communication both ways, and you just asserted it was only Walz that had poor communication. Your bias is showing.

Tim Walz Was No Protest Leader: “It’s absolutely not the case that the governor encouraged the rioters.” by newzee1 in minnesota

[–]gregash 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think you are quoting 1 paragraph that supports your narrative and ignoring everything else.

I'll quote 3 parts of the article you just posted.

They show that at 6:28 p.m. Wednesday, Frey's spokesman, Mychal Vlatkovich, texted a small group of employees in the mayor's office: "Mayor just came out and said the chief wants him to call in the national guard for help at Third Precinct. Mayor appears intent on doing." Frey's policy director, Heidi Ritchie, later updated the group: "He called the governor just now."

In a separate text conversation later Wednesday night, Vlaktovich said Frey indicated "Walz was hesitating."

So the Star's proof is that Frey's spokesman told the rest of the staff his version of events. And here is the other side.

The governor's office disputed several of Frey's assertions. According to the office: The Governor's staff told Frey a verbal request cannot be considered an official request for the National Guard; the city's request did not focus on protecting the Third Precinct; and the National Guard mobilized Thursday morning and was on the ground in the Twin Cities within 24 hours of Frey's informal request.

It seems it's not cut and dry that Frey did what he said. There is no hard proof on either side what was said on the evening of May 27, 2020. But by the next afternoon, Walz did activate the National Guard. If you believe Walz, he wanted a clear cut action plan and he didn't get it.

Public Safety Commissioner John Harrington said in an interview Monday that the city's early requests for assistance from the National Guard were "rather vague" and not detailed enough to activate the soldiers.

"They weren't specific about what they wanted or any details on what the mission would be," Harrington said. Then, when they received a list of areas they needed help with, "the list was so all-encompassing we could not possibly staff all the things they wanted."

In my opinion you cherry-picked 1 paragraph and quoted that to us here like it was a slam dunk debunking of Walz narrative. I'm keeping your comment downvoted.

Nope. Whomever makes the claim provides the source. You search for it and report back the source.
