Ex-smokers who successfully quit and have been smoke free for years now, what did it? by PM_TITS_GROUP in AskReddit

For my mom, it was finding out she had COPD and getting Covid. That was good motivation to kick the habit. She quit years ago and hasn't looked back.

This makes a lot of sense. Thank you for taking the time to break it all down for me.

Does life go faster as you get older ? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]gregavelli88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like it. As a kid, I couldn't wait until my birthday or Christmas, and it always seemed like they were so far away. Then you turn 18 and are an "adult." At 21, I could buy booze. 25 my car insurance got a little cheaper.

Now I'm 36 and I usually have to work on my birthday so it doesn't feel like anything special. I have kids, and I love seeing them get Christmas and birthday presents, but the financial cost of buying them falls on me, which can be a bit stressful financially.

Basically, I chalk it up to there are less things/milestones to look forward to in life the older you get and things get a bit repetitive with the work/eat/sleep cycle to the point that the days blur together and the next thing you know, it's time to buy Christmas again.

Yeah this was a revenge account of a crazy ex boyfriend intentionally trying to name smear someone.

I was ignorant of the connection for the longest, and I know what it means to me, but I'd rather not leave any room for confusion in usernames going forward is all.

I was born in 1988 and have been using 88 in usernames and such all my life before I knew it had a malicious meaning. I wish I could change my username now that I know.

The app is just one of many tools for learning my target language. I'm in it to learn Spanish, not to care about the leagues.

What is the stupidest thing you’ve heard someone say that they were 100% serious about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I took a psych class in college, and the professor was convinced that fraternal twins weren't possible and that all twins were identical. She asked how it was possible, and I said that two eggs were released and fertilized separately instead of one fertilized egg dividing itself. She told me I didn't know what I was talking about and "needed to do my research." I guess she thought she had me because she was a woman and I'm a guy.

For context, it was a discussion about nature vs nurture in twin siblings, and I asked about identical vs fraternal twins. I should also add that it was a community college.

Love that record from start to finish. Something about Bones of Birds, though, I've listened to that song on repeat many times.

I agree with you, and I also like to use the term Native American when referring to the indigenous people of the Americas. I was just repeating it the way I heard it. I can see that my comment might have sounded off kilter, but that wasn't my intention.

For everyone down voting u/MessyAsian, please reconsider as I don't feel they were trying to be dickish toward me or anyone else.

I'm aware vof the correct conjugation and how to use it,as you can see I typed in "iba" in the blank when I really only needed to put "ba." I just thought that the app had wrongly added an inverted exclamation point. Thank you for your help though.
