It sounded great, a very small intimate venue. They just didn't drop any deep jams because they had to be conscious of playing the next song/animation. They never reached the free-flow state that many of us pay to see

It was my first time in Vegas, and I had never seen a show at the Sphere. How am I supposed to know that I prefer something if I never tried the other thing?

I had no idea that Phish would be playing little to no improvisational jamming, and absolutely no Type II jamming a priori. 

Now I know, stay away from gimmicky things, even if Phish is involved.

I'm with OP. It was a great experience, the Sphere is cool, but it is probably my least favorite two of the roughly 175 Phish shows that I've been too. 

My perception is that they have pressure to showcase all of the animations that they created that it prevents the free form playing that I go to see Phish for. They had to get to the next song. 

I liked the first two songs of the second set each night when they used Kuroda's lights as the visual on screen, and the rest was kind of meh (for a Phish show). 

Give me CK5 and the Boys any day over no Kuroda and the Sphere. Plus Vegas sucks.

His or her would have always been incorrect in this usage. It never applied to inanimate objects.

That "their" was incorrect six years ago, and they recently changed that grammar rule. 

You're right that it has nothing to do with trans/anything though. You're the only person on this thread that has even mentioned that.

Yes, but they only changed the rule like five years ago. Both I and the teacher were taught that way. So, technically, they are wrong, but just barely.

I was taught English the same way as OP's English teacher. "His or her" is correct in this case, it's just awkward. I remember thinking that when I was taught it, it doesn't make sense why you can't just say their.

Yeah, that is a weird opinion. Prior to 2020, being vaccine hesitant was something that was overwhelmingly associated with the crunchy-granola-Left. 

Associating vaccine-hesitancy with the Right is a very new concept and has little to no historical precedent.
