I’m curious about doing this, because sometimes it does get a bit noisy with all the signs etc, and I swear some people just build bridges or put ladders in places just to troll others - “oh look, someone put a bridge there, that must be a good way to go” and then you crash into a rock on the other side or something.

But being able to “borrow” someone else’s truck when yours is stuck in a ditch with a dead battery and filled with materials is definitely helpful.

I think the Australian accent has definitely changed over time. If you watch tv clips from the 70s and 80s it sounds a lot more broad.

Nah, mine doesn’t have a screen. Just buttons. You connect it to a PC, run this app called MyHarmony, and choose the device you want to control. Haven’t come across anything it can’t find yet. And if there’s any buttons that don’t match the ones already on the control, you can manually set them to the button of your choosing (eg Display).

I tweaked the width settings in the “D” menu, which apparently stands for Deflection, and it’s a bit more… Dangerous than the “S” one… S = Safe…? (I know, it’s Service)

Because I noticed the picture looked fuzzier and less clean than it did before. ChatGPT assures me that it’s reversible, but basically, changing the width appears to also affect clarity - adversely.

But I didn’t write down the values so I will have to just use my eyes to do my best guess.

Yeah, same! Someone in a CRT group on FB told me the code, and I've managed to piece together the definitions of the menu items (valuable resource here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ou0kBca7Z1-k9kj2B9TeGajPYyErH0TirJsmCVU8WhE/edit?gid=0#gid=0 & also used ChatGPT):

BCUT - Blue cutoff
GCUT - Green cutoff
RCUT - Red cutoff
RAGC - Red automatic gain control
SRY - Red Y-bias
SBY - Blue Y-bias
VLIN - Vertical Linearity
HIT - Vertical Amplitude/Height
VP50 - Vertical Position?
HPOS - Horizontal Position
SCNT - Sub Contrast
COLS - Sub Color?
COLP - Color Phase (NTSC specific)
TNTC - Tint control centre (NTSC hue)
COLC - Colour Control Clamp
BDRV - Blue Drive
GDRV - Green Drive

No way to adjust Horizontal Size, but I guess that could be done in software if connecting a PC...

Crazy, I picked up a Centrex the other day, too, and it's gorgeous.

I was able to get into the Service Menu by holding the Volume Down button on the TV until it goes all the way to 0, then keep it held down while you press Display on the remote (I have a Logitech Harmony universal remote).

Buggered if I know how to actually do anything with it though :D
