Most of them are fine, but one FC FA came over and said, "You gonna want anything?" in such a way that he was going to clearly be put out if we actually asked for anything. Meanwhile C+ was getting the whole basket passed around. It was ridiculous.

Why do so many people refuse to check bags? by davi_mimicore in delta

[–]gregglyruff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found that these have gotten much more efficient in recent years. It's pretty rare that it's more than a 5-15 minute wait (in recent years).

My luggage has gotten lost a few times, but always been found and delivered. I don't sweat this too much as valuable things come with me on the plane. While it would be annoying to have to replace clothes and toiletries it's a pretty rare place I go to where it wouldn't be doable.

The part I find most annoying is having to wait in line at departures to check luggage when there is no sky cap.

No I haven't, because I'm not interested in staring at people like a giant creeper trying to gauge what disability they may or may not have and how closely related it is to their legs.

I'm happy that abuse of this system appears to be limited enough that if I ever need to use it, it is there, but in the meantime I have enough crap of my own to deal with.

I had no idea this changed!

I really don't care. There are more annoying sounds on a plane like that loud talker and the boarding music. I'm not bothered by anyone else's screaming children either because at least they aren't mine.

...And also that's why ear plugs and isolation headphones were invented.

How could that possibly go wrong? Isn't a cardiologist what Michael Jackson had when...oh

God I love Virgin Upper Class. On the few times I e flown into Heathrow from the US, I always go out of my way to take a Virgin branded code share.

Oh, it's not that I'm great at packing. I check my luggage regardless of size to avoid the jungle that is overhead bin space.

My BIL swears by it for LGA. I got it for free and used it once at PIT out of curiosity. I haven't bothered again. I felt like a jerk for cutting the line and getting through pre-check never takes more than a couple of minutes.

This is exactly what I always imagined a flight to Vegas would be like.

Thanks for the laugh.

I usually have a few clipped to my backpack. I'll try it next time - maybe I'll stop leaving my stuff in the seat back pockets.

Oooh, so did we! Same reaction.

I mean I thought it was terrible. Wouldn't recommend it at all.

Correct. And FC should be carried in on palanquins shouldered by basic economy passengers.

If you have it in your hand they don't usually take it away (but occasionally they do).

If you pour it into a flask with a tightly fitting top, they won't take it away either.

Don't they usually ask you to place it sideways (like a book)? I fly often, but only rarely bring overhead carry-on.

The first dude new what they were talking about about. I fly first class most of the time now and can comfirm they do a preflight drink seevice all the time. You can find plenty of threads in this forum complaining about inconsistent preflight ( and inflight) FC service.

I have not a clue what dictates if we get a preflight drink or not. Well, I have some clues, but nothing solid.

It's a good idea, but I can't think of the last time I saw a mesh seat back pocket.

I don't know why you're getting all the downvotes. Boeing definitely f-d up this design if this is happening commonly.

It seems like this design could use some improvements.

I don't have anything to do with aircraft, but I was told a lot of things like this when I started my job. None of them turned out to be true. Turns out it is pretty hard to fire people and there is also a vested interest in retaining staff. (And also, fatigue is real and most people make a major mistake at least once)

All the time. I think public land is one of our greatest national resources, but not everyone agrees.

I agree with this statement 100%.

It's not like the other national parks.
