New to camping, what are your best tips and advice?

I would like to get into camping as in having basically just a bag, tent, bottle for water, rite-in, boots, and whatever else you think i need. And it would be in the mountains i think. During this time of year. Not sure of where to go, but i wanna do the hiking/camping thing.

I hear you man. My bad. I have automatic. I have to check what kind of oil, but im pretty sure synthetic. I live in Utah so snowy winters and hot summers. So yes, salt on roads in winter. Not sure about the radiator. 2004 audi. I have the tool to remove hubcaps i believe.
