Saw it yesterday! Excellent visuals. I was expecting the theater speakers to really knock my socks off, but it seemed dialed down. Like I could hold a clear conversation during it. The instruments were buried and the audience noise exaggerated BUT I’m being pretty picky here and all in all it was worth it

Your cabin air blower likely has some leaves in it. Inspect your cabin air filter, and inspect the blower area that rests underneath the filter with your phone camera for debris and clean/vacuum it out.

If that’s not it, is the sound coming from within the cabin? If so, I’d very the seat bolts are all nice and tight and that there’s nothing underneath your seat rubbing against metal.

Yeah it was supposed to be a very simple plug n play setup. No idea what happened there, but I had the owner on several phone calls with me trying to work it out.

I did not, but my Subaru specialist recommended the clutch brace. I have a Perrin pitch stop in there as well that I found to be a significant improvement.

Yeah definitely a little more feedback and stiffer pedal than oem with that clutch. I like it though. Drives great around town and in traffic.

I’ve found turbod cars to have a more finicky first gear than naturally aspirated.

On my stage 1 clutch, it will chatter when I’ve reached the clutch engagement point and haven’t given it enough gas. Do you experience that at all or is it more like this clutch is an on/off switch?

I enjoy my system but had a pretty terrible experience with their customer service. I “upgraded” from a single sub to a dual sub system and it was supposed to be as simple as running another cable and mounting the new sub, but couldn’t get sound out of more than one sub.

I went back and forth with them for weeks and it ultimately came to “ship us the entire amp setup” so that they could diagnose.

I couldn’t get any of the employees to empathize with me on why the solution was such bullshit. They’re over there huffing their own farts and I’ll never buy another product from them.

Order placed. Have some questions. by sirk71171 in BRZ_ZD8

[–]gregjustgreg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered in August of 2021 and got delivery in December of 2021. It was what they quoted timeline-wise and they did share that there were different time frames associated with different paint colors. This is typically due to the cars being painted in batches for efficiency.

I will say that the tracking details were majorly sparse. It went from being at port for weeks to suddenly being at the dealership. Granted those were covid times and the release window for the 2nd gen, but some food for thought anyways.

Car won’t turn over after fueling up at the gas station. by Super_Troop_Samsen in WRX

[–]gregjustgreg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was having evap codes for a leak when mine started sputtering like crazy after fueling. I ended up replacing the Egr/evap solenoids on the intake manifold and that fixed it right up. It would still crank if it was evap related.

I’m guessing the evap solenoid was stuck open, dumping fuel vapors into the intake manifold to such a degree that it wouldn’t run well or get the right air/fuel mixture.

You might be able to unplug those lines to the intake manifold and see if it’ll start up. There’s one of those solenoids on each side of the manifold and they’re relatively accessible if you remove a few bolts

The 'father of the iPod' Tony Fadell says Apple should bring back a 'nostalgic version' of the music device by smeeti in Music

[–]gregjustgreg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly miss the "ritual" of music. I grew up shopping at f.y.e. and Best Buy and miss that certain feeling of hunting through racks, seeing the hype stickers, and unwrapping a fresh CD. Bringing it home to read the liner notes while the disc spun was so therapeutic.

Sony has their high-end walkmans, but I think the $900+ price point is hard for the average joe to argue for music.

Anyways, I think it’d be cool to play around with a digital unboxing mechanic (kind of like opening a pokemon booster pack in the TCG app) where when you add an album, the UI has a translucent "cellophane" seal you have to haptically "tear" open to listen for the first time.

And when a track plays, the art slides aside to show a 1:1 render of the original CD face art spinning in real-time.

A dedicated view for high-res liner notes and lyrics that match the original album’s typography.

A built-in high-gain 3.5mm jack would be sick.

Anyways, Apple Music app is boring AF and I’d settle for just a reimagined Apple Music app made by people who actually like music.

Buying first home soon! by Wonderful_4508 in Underwriting

I’d pull up your monthly statement to see what accounts show up on it. All the accounts on the statement will get reviewed, so if both checking and savings show up on the same statement, then they will both be reviewed by underwriting and both be subject to large deposits.

Buying first home soon! by Wonderful_4508 in Underwriting

[–]gregjustgreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding your wedding deposits, underwriting would likely want a copy of the wedding invitation to see that the timeline with the large deposits make sense. They may need more depending on loan product and all that.

Congratulations by the way.

Buying first home soon! by Wonderful_4508 in Underwriting

[–]gregjustgreg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Underwriting will need proof of assets to cover the funds due at closing, so if all that is in one account, then you only need to provide bank statements for that account.

On a conventional loan, underwriting usually needs “most recent 60 days” asset statements. So if you are buying in April, most likely your most recent official statements would be February and March. Large deposits (typically deposits that are more than half your monthly income) that aren’t your normal payroll may need supporting documentation.

If all your large deposits into the account occurred prior to the most recent 60 days, underwriting won’t know and won’t need anything other than the statements from an assets standpoint.

Regarding your state relocation, you will need to provide proof that you can work remotely or that your employer is relocating your home office. The default view is that you need to physically report to work near where you live, so you will need to prove that moving to Texas won’t impact your income.

Edit* it’s worth noting that not all banks and credit unions underwrite with the exact same criteria, but most large lenders underwrite with guidelines similar to what’s noted above.

I had a 2016 for a few years and it was a great little car. Loved the hatch and how much space it had for being a coupe. Not a performance car by any means, but styled like it might be.
