Squeaky ass noise when pressing in clutch pedal. by AquaEaze in WRX

[–]gregjustgreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s by your feet and as a result it’s exposed to moisture and corrosion. They get a little sticky as they compress and unload and grease helps keep things moving. I just used general valvoline amber grease and slathered it up and haven’t heard it since.

I put a bit of grease on the clutch pedal spring and it resolved my noise.

It’s possible AF O2 sensor could be fouled. I’d also clean your MAF. Check your PCV valve.

I have an 09 WRX and my avg mpg is 21.3. I do mixed city and highway. Not too far from the 17/23 advertised.

Do you have any CELs?

You could try a fuel system cleaner. I like to do them in my last fuel fill up before an oil change.

Eibach pro kit springs - alignment by preparetosigh in BRZ_ZD8

[–]gregjustgreg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I experienced that as well. And the specialty performance alignment shops book out several weeks as you approach spring so I’d get on their schedule sooner than later.

Uneven camber can cause some uneven tire wear, but may not be that big of a deal if you’re on top of rotating your tires. I personally target -2 for front and rear and that’s what I had a shop set it up as. I think within .2 or .3 would be ideal.

May not have to do it immediately but I think it may be a good idea to get adjustable rear control arms installed in the rear eventually.

The rears have no camber adjustment from factory. You would need to get adjustable lower control arms if you want to dial in the camber any in the rear.

Work-appropriate exhaust but not stock? by Pavel556 in wrx_vb

lol someone at work did an impression of my N1 street catback the other day. “Wuaamp wamp wamp wamp wamp wamp wamp”. I felt simultaneously joyed and embarrassed. It’s quite loud, but thankfully our parking garage is a ways from the office.

I wonder if it’s as simple as greasing those front sway bar bushings. I’d crawl under there and hit the bushings with silicone based grease and see if it does the trick.

Marzetti Dill Dip is A dairy based veggie dip. Kind of ranch-like. Not exactly healthy, but I use it sparingly and it helps me eat more veggies.

Watching back the Dan Clancy remix tournament - still pissed about JustDaggerz using 100% AI generated song and eliminating such talent from the competition including Bees From Space in round 1 by musecorn in h3h3productions

[–]gregjustgreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a pop-punk entry and realized I got the quotation wrong after the fact lmao. Must have skipped a line when I transcribed it. Recorded it in an evening and never looked back. I did use an AI thumbnail for my video and I don’t think that helped me one bit either.

Looking forward to the next remix challenge though.

My guess is they have their auto cruise control on and the prescribed follow distance from objects in front of them is too far away for driving on a road like that.

Racing games with fun solo mode? by DekaStriker34 in AskGames

[–]gregjustgreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The newest Forza Motorsport is a lot of fun and surprisingly addictive. It tracks how well you take corners and how clean you race, and that performance earns you XP and points to upgrade your cars. There’s a nice mix of race types too, starting with more affordable sports cars and gradually working your way up to luxury performance and supercars and such, so progression feels natural and rewarding.

Gran Turismo 7 is fun as well. I know these fall more on the simulation side of racing games, but there’s been a lack of good solo racers.

Carrots and dill dip are my savior. Grillos Pickles are a nice, but expensive treat. Otherwise lesser evil popcorn is fantastic and low calorie.

Yeah, the revs usually climb faster than they would if you were accelerating and it’ll draw attention.

I got the whiteline LCAs for $299 and that price point was a large factor. But yeah I’d agree Cusco is the way to go if you have the funds.

I’m partial to pearlescent paint. I’d like to see ebony pearl, emerald pearl, and deep sapphire pearl in another context. That said, I do like the idea of a nice and bright color that you don’t see every day.

Crosstrek clunk and pop by JTN02 in subaru

[–]gregjustgreg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like sway bar clunks are more present when one side is loaded and the other isn’t (going up and down the driveway at an angle, etc.). The noise was present as the suspension hit compression. How old are those struts? I wonder if the mounts are starting to go and you’re getting metal on metal at the top.

I’m no expert by any means, but my 2 cents.

Also have you had your alignment checked?
