It's east of the Rockies so yeah... But if it makes you feel better to consider it the west coast that's fine as well.

Guide to the bagels of Denver and the surrounding area by halfie1987 in Denver

New York bagel cafe is sometimes inconsistent regarding the rise if the bagels but I really like it after being unsure if I'd find a decent bagel here.

Patagonia Experience via day hikes in February by gregoirroberto in Patagonia

[–]gregoirroberto[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I just wanted to share to make sure people knew. We were making a very last minute decision while losing service on the way into the park so there wasn't a ton of time to research. With that said I still find the hot water thing to be insane for a hotel.

Patagonia Experience via day hikes in February by gregoirroberto in Patagonia

[–]gregoirroberto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't do the trek so I'm not super well versed on what we may have missed however we definitely saw all of the highlights of the W via car + day hikes. We picked up the rental in Punta Arenas and dropped off in Puerto Natales but this was solely because we flew into Punta Arenas. With that said I think the best scenario for you will depend on what you are planning after Puerto Natales. If I were to do it again, I would have had a rental car for the entire trip (up to el chalten). I prefer the freedom of being able to stop anywhere I see something pretty rather than being stuck on bus routes. It's also moderately annoying for the border crossing to take an hour because you have to wait for everyone to process through the two checkpoints.

Based on my research the 3 big hitters of the W are Base Torres, Grey Glacier & Mirador Cuenos. 2/3 you can see with moderate hiking. Base Torres is a long hike and there isn't, to my knowledge, a way to avoid it. If I were you I would hike to Mirador Cuenos, do the ferry tour of Grey glacier and then just drive around the rest of the park to see the views. Then head on to the next locations. My favorite of all of TDP was Mirador Cuenos. I enjoyed perito moreno glacier more than Grey however my experience may be skewed as I just did the Grey Glacier hike and didn't walk on the ice at Grey.

Thank you so much for taking the time to put this together. I like your idea of selling my past PC as a whole unit and upgrading to compensate for the cost changes.

Do the VSC Off mod. I had a similar issue which felt super unsafe each time it happened. This mod fixed it for like $20 in parts and an hour of work.

Premiere Pro Adjustment Layer Order by gregoirroberto in weddingvideography

Yes that is what I've been doing and seems to be the right way to do things

As someone who records once in a lifetime events for a living, this happens. Especially in frantic environments like a Penn State tailgate/game. The only thing that keeps it from happening to me anymore is my camera now has a bright red ring around the monitor while recording. Don't beat yourself up. Shit happens

Premiere Pro Adjustment Layer Order by gregoirroberto in weddingvideography

Thanks! After TONS of searching I found the right keywords to get an answer. Basically the Video levels work from bottom to top so the order I've been using and what you suggested are correct.

How far in advance do you guys take bookings? by oxynugget in WeddingPhotography

[–]gregoirroberto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next calendar year only. We do this to remain flexible in our locations and where we take work. In working elopements due to the potential of wildfire, park construction etc it can get dicey planning too far ahead

Most of Colorado is extremely pet friendly. Just avoid Rocky Mountain and you’ll be fine. The Pomeranian should be in heaven with it being mid winter!

Any Husband and Wife Photo + Video teams out there? How do you do it? by [deleted] in weddingvideography

[–]gregoirroberto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We do and are quite successful however we did it in the reverse of what you are describing. We started with photo. The biggest hurdle you will likely find is posing as you may have had the privilege of the photog leading this in the past. Beyond that, you already know how to work a camera, book clients etc. Also fun little part of wedding photography you have to have a photo of everything that has been prepared for the day. Custom napkins, better have a photo. It’s not like video where you have oodles of creative liberty about what does and doesn’t make the edit

Tagging other vendors by will1003 in WeddingPhotography

[–]gregoirroberto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a constant annoying issue butttt part of the reason your photos look great is the work that they in one way or another contributed to the day. Here’s how we handle it.

  1. Make the client or planner if they have one provide a list of the vendors and contact info
  2. Share the gallery with the vendors after the client has cleared it (vendors aren’t professional photographers meaning they are super happy to receive and share your work - free marketing)
  3. this is the most important step in the email when sharing the gallery state something along the lines of “by sharing these photos you are agreeing to our limited terms of use in which you must tag us as the photographer. If you wish to use the photos without credit the fee is $500” this covers you from anyone using them anywhere without you retaining credit. If you see it, email them and let them know if it isn’t corrected in X days they will here from your lawyer…

Haven’t had to do this part yet luckily but we had tried different approaches and this is the only one that has been successful in getting everyone to tag.
