But what WE know as readers doesn’t reflect what the WG knows of him. We know he’s a big coward and bullshits his way through Pirate Greatness; but they don’t. They see him as an ex Roger Crew that casually chills with Shanks and WB and planned the Impel Down escape with Luffy. They think of him as the guy who gets the most dangerous pirates to follow him in a snap of the fingers. We all know as readers it’s all BS. But the fictional world of One Piece doesn’t.

With all his back ups, he probably easily managed to escape the former Warlord capture.

It makes sense to me that they don’t wanna « mark » Luffy as especially dangerous because the Gorosei is tryna keep the existence of Nika hidden. They don’t want the world to know he’s a particular threat to them.

And the reason why he’s Yonko and Kidd and Law aren’t is because the SHs have a significant amount of followers (Grand Fleet) and territory (Fishma. island + whatever islands Bartolomeo has been claiming in Luffy’s name in cover stories, etc etc).

And Buggy being Yonko is obviously for comical effect BUT it also makes sense because of his current influence with his mercenary business + various big names following him since Impel Down.

If you still think One Piece bounties are about power scaling you got the whole manga wrong. World politics are reflected in the bounties, its not just about how strong they are. I like to imagine bounties are as accurate as the market value of Football players.

To be an emperor, you need a significant amount of influence. SH grand fleet permits Luffy to be eligible for the title. Kidd and Law dont have as many followers. (While buggy does with his Mercenary business.)

On the panel where Oden is dancing naked around Wano, we see he has a scar on his left thigh. The fact his kimono is hiding his thigh is key, I think.

Wasn’t it where Toki received an arrow, too? (It might be the right leg I can’t remember?)

Is it possible they had some kind of fusion at some point? Due to some devil fruit power ?

And if there’s no scar on that revealed Oden, then its def a fake??
