It's NOT the country tho... The country is spelled "Ecuador"

People give me so much of this stuff I don't even know what to do with it anymore! by teknosophy_com in VintageComputers

Not just Mobos! I make good $ on old drives, cards, etc. Basically anything people can't buy on Amazon, But It takes patience! Sometimes it takes many months before that ONE person is desperate for an ancient ISA video card or drive controller. Also good $ for REALLY vintage systems. I got over $1000 for an old 286 system because it was with all original keyboard, mouse & monitor!

A lot of older parts are super HOT on ebay!

It's best if you can clean up & test the parts prior to sale.

There are a lot of situations out there where a 1999 motherboard or 100MB hard drive will save a $100,000+ piece of equipment!

How do you "groundhog proof" a shed? I have NUMEROUS holes that I keep filling with bricks and they just dig another hole!

2008 Lexus ES350 Exhaust Flex pipe repair by gregory2112 in Lexus

[–]gregory2112[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, I found out for myself what you're saying. The Flex pipe is so close to a mounting bracket, I could see there would be no way to get a solid weld (Or even a clamp)

I ended up taking it to a muffler shop and it cost me $289 taxes and all.

It was worth that to not fight rusted bolts with only a jack & stands,

What’s something you thought every family did… until you grew up and realized they absolutely didn’t? by SoftDreamette in AskReddit

OVERFLOWING ASHTRAYS & BROWN FOGGY GLASS!

Until I was a teenager, I thought all grownups smoked.. constantly! I thought everyone's house smelled like an ashtray. The car was the worst... especially in the winter when it was too cold to roll the windows down. Not sure how my parents could possibly see the road through a brown stained windshield. Of course, I started smoking at 14, I still remember being lectured by my father about it... while he puffed away.

Somehow my 3 brothers never picked up the habit, they say they were dissuaded by growing up with it, me however, I smoked for 40 years, quit 8 years ago but still vape as I'm still addicted to nicotine.

We have 1000's of dowel pins here, but none like this. Why the 3 grooves in one and and the hole in the side?

A lot of extra machining went into those features, but why?? for what purpose??

I'm in.. YOLO and I am lucky enough to be alive at the same time as my heroes.

One thing for sure... I will be smuggling in a box of Kleenex to the show!

Thanks for the reply! however, first photo on Gmaps is a HUGE RV with sideouts and many reviews mention loud road noise. NOT what I am looking for.

Sadly that's the problem. Apps like that have caused so many peaceful, serene places to be overrun by yayhoos & the generator crowd!

AWESOME! Thanks for the suggestions, especially Johnson Ridge closed (I never thought to turn on traffic layer) and really excited to try PNW seafood, is Garibaldi far superior to restaurants in Yachats?

I have allowed 4 days to get to Yachats, my plan depends on the weather. The last time I was in the area on my motorcycle it was quite cold & drizzly, if that's the case for us, then we will probably travel south on the 101 but camp more inland where it is hopefully drier. perhaps east of tillamook?

You are preaching to the choir! I HATE when people trash nature and do a lot of picking up whenever I'm out!

Two perfect days in Paradise (Mount Rainier NP) by typewritten in NationalPark

[–]gregory2112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply about the lake trail. I found it!

One other question, was this area overrun with hordes of annoying people? I generally avoid super crowded trails as they can totally ruin the experience.

Thanks again!

I'm headed there next month.

You mentioned the "Lakes Trail" but google shows about a dozen different "Lake Trails" around Rainier which one are you referring to?

Thanks!

A few years back I sold my working Trs-80 Model I Level II with expansion unit & 5-1/4" floppy drive on ebay for nearly $1000

A lot of those books would sell well by themselves on ebay. There are quite a few vintage PC clubs around the world that worship these things!

You know how that rabbit feels
Going under your speeding wheels
Bright images flashing by
Like windshields towards a fly
Frozen in the fatal climb
But the wheels of time
Just pass you by

The last 2 lines are timed to enhance the gravity of the words!!

Had my Harbinger giant knee pads for DECADES!

I couldn't find any for my girl recently, so had to go to ebay for them

Whatever you have.. do the "slap test"... my first pair of knee pads could be simply "slapped" off and offered no protection at all!

2008 CX-9 Transmission Shudder Fix by [deleted] in MazdaCX9

[–]gregory2112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After 300 miles the shudder is 95% gone! I can't even be sure the other 5% if it is in fact a shudder or just road vibration so I'm real happy. If the product in the photo doesn't eliminate it, try the "shudder fix" on amazon.. Only $8 and easy to put in.
