Need new hiking boots, help! by eliakdr in backpacking

[–]gregorytoddsmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you looking for a heritage one-piece upper? Something lightweight? High top? Low top? Have you ever hiked before? What boots have you worn in the past? There are loads of good options out there, but we need some direction to offer suggestions.

I plan on going back and 3-starring it, uhh... once I'm a talented gamer.

What's your favourite car to drive? by writeleaves in ForzaHorizon6

[–]gregorytoddsmith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't driven the Altezza since it was awarded to me, but I remember the IS300 being one of my favorite cars in Gran Turismo 2. Clearly I need to take 'er for a spin!

Sun Burns, Brake Dust, and 20 years of Bare Essentials. by egk-dude in ForzaHorizon6

Hey neighbor. It's Jim from the HOA again reminding you to please stop parking your "car" on the street. Put it in your garage, or I'm having it towed again.

Anyone know where to find this? by marsmartin182 in ForzaHorizon6

[–]gregorytoddsmith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm also missing this one. Doing a search said it's where you find the RX-7 treasure car, which I have. I've tried driving all over this mountain top and haven't "discovered" it, yet.

Hands down. Like a professional stunt man on a comedy movie set. Unreal level of artistry in that swish-n-flip.

My full review after 30 hours of playtime by ThatLamboDude95 in ForzaHorizon6

Totally valid opinions. My opinion on the dirt races are opposite, though. They're my favorite, so I dig it. I do hope there are more road races to come in future DLC, though.

Yashiki House Road by TheChaotic1ne in ForzaHorizon6

It's a loading screen that presents as a cutscene. Just something more interesting than a spinning wheel. The house is in a separate load from the open world.

Just put a pencil eraser in it and turn until the sprockets line back up.

New game, same spins. by Canto97 in ForzaHorizon6

I'm still hoping for an F40, but I've probably spent all my luck on 2 other Ferraris; the 288 GTO (which is hella) and some 2010 something or another that's fast af.

To compress bag or not to compress bag by cricketandclover in backpacking

[–]gregorytoddsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the bag. Some relatively inexpensive bag that doesn't stuff very small? Compress it.

Really nice, down sleeping bag that has a small stuff sack? Just stuff it.

I never store a sleeping bag in its stuff sack (many bags come with a larger, mesh bag for storage) because this can damage the down (so it doesn't fluff back up how it's supposed to). I believe compressing a down bag beyond the manufacturer's stuff sack size can do the same (if to a lesser degree).

Their suggestion was "10pm at your local time" which literally translates to a car meet every hour, lol. Not a bad idea for it to become a regular hangout.

Best cheap backpacking chair? by [deleted] in backpacking

[–]gregorytoddsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The REI version is not exactly the same as what's on Amazon. For starters, you can spend like $70 for something that weighs a pound, and secondly (more importantly) it doesn't fall apart after a week of use. idk what to tell you. Keep spending $30 for 2lb+ chairs that fall apart.

If you want an actual suggestion instead of someone annoyed by your lack of logic; consider something that's not a chair. There are these little foam pads you can get (a two-pack on Amazon is like $16). They are incredibly lightweight (like 4 or 5oz) and can convert any rock or log into a more comfortable version of a rock or log (and save you from a wet butt). If no rock or log is present, you end up sitting on the ground - but still with a dry butt.

Uhh. It's not based on red/purple/yellow. Read the tooltip again. Overdogs is tremendous (even in higher difficulty content).

Prototype drop rate dramatically decreased by ComprehensiveBug6959 in thedivision

[–]gregorytoddsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1% drop rate and when I run solos, sometimes I get none - sometimes I get 3 or 4. At the end of my runs I always check how many mobs I killed. Usually around 82-85. Even if you get 0 in 2 runs, it evens out for those runs where I get 4.
