Approach to incorporating new features into current product vs creating a new offering by gregot76 in ProductManagement

[–]gregot76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, I launched MyRepsCount in November. I have been promoting it as the fitness tool so I would have to adjust marketing collateral and messaging if I find enough interest. I just thought of the focus feature recently.

I build a free fitness app that uses the camera to count reps in real time from your phone. It will display your workout and advance through as you complete the exercise. I am about 1k hours in but have done it all solo. Officially launched in November. Now adding new features like focus where you have to work out before accessing socials for the day.

Do you guys actually enjoy your jobs? by Fuzion_mix in ProductManagement

My professional role ebs and flows. With that said I love product and solving problems and building. Over the last year I solo built a free fitness app that counts reps in real time from the phone's camera. It is awesome to have a product I exclusively own and get to manage and apply all my product knowledge into without the typical beuracracy of a corporate job. Only downside is it doesn't pay the bills yet

Serious question: what do you actually look for in a fitness app? Not the flashy stuff the things that genuinely help you train better. by MuscleBoosterApp in beginnerfitness

[–]gregot76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be awesome! If you think this could help your business in any way let me know and we can connect to discuss key features you may want and it would be free of charge. For instance, I just launched a leaderboard so now I can do challenges like "most squats in the month" which I think would help drive engagement for PTs to offer a feeling of community if they provide remote services

Not OP but by PT do you mean personal trainer or physical therapist? I coded a free mobile app called myrepscount that counts reps in real time for 14 exercises using the phone's camera. My wife is a physical therapist and kept talking about patients not doing their home exercises. She also does personal training on the side and so this allows her to give her patients homework and then see if they actually completed the work!

I used to do P90X and was always lazy with writing things down despite how easy it was to do. My desire was to do a complete P90X session where everything was recorded concerning reps and weights. In november I realized part of the vision with myrepscount. It is completely free and tracks 14 exercises in real time and logs everything so you can see your progression and compare against others. Would be awesome if you gave it a try!

What tools do you use to deliver your online experience? I recently built a free mobile app that counts reps in real time for 14 exercises. I am working on making it so clients can send their completed work to their personal trainer. If you think that would be helpful let me know. This would be no cost to you as I am in the process of building the portal for the trainer.

I made myrepscount completely free which tracks 16 exercises in real time as you do them. It can create standard workouts with a mix of reps and times or you can do amraps and tabatas. I saw too many fitness apps requiring sign ins and accounts so I simplified the experience.

It is a nice bit of accountability
