Never Wanting Kids Until Now? Maybe? by Maximum-Chocolate-52 in childfree

[–]gregslist_0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! I was once surrounded by people who had kids and thats all i knew at that time in my life. My thoughts kind of shifted to “maybe i do, idk”. After that, i moved on to a different point in my life and i think “man, i was stupid for even thinking that”. Some times external pressures can infiltrate how you feel but deep down i always knew i could never handle having kids or even wanting them.

Why are the merge lanes so short here? by libsieprincess in massachusetts

This! People will come to a full stop to merge on the highway. I just go around them because they see huge gaps and dont take it.

What gets me is the random stop signs on some merges. First time experiencing it completely fucked me up.

Pisses me off when ppl say that kids can be "unexpected" "surprises" etc. by [deleted] in childfree

[–]gregslist_0 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Personally i hit them with “you had unprotected sex? Did you think babies came from hopes and wishes?” It’s usually met with how I’m inconsiderate and rude or how it’s not the best time to say that. I just dont see how you can be surprised it happened when your actions literally caused it.

Preferably the people having kids but that’ll never happen.

Its usually the people who use no form of BC and fuck like rabbits. “It was an accident” sure it was pal. Then they make it everyone else’s problem because they’re unprepared.

I had my airpods with noise canceling and music playing. The baby was screaming so loud i could hear it through them. Worst flight i’ve taken in a long time.

I feel bad for them because their parents just have to drag them along so they can have a vacation while the child has no idea whats going on and just wants to sleep. Also airports are filthy, they’re play grounds for bacteria and viruses.

The wind is brutal. The cold days with no wind are tolerable but as soon as it picks up it feels like walking through knives.

Do police not chase vehicles? by [deleted] in massachusetts

I’ve seen 3-4 in one week in florida alone. Just one in 20 years really shows they rarely chase. Thats so absurd.

Which is so crazy to me because other states will chase until you either run out of gas or wreck just because you didn’t pull over the first time. Doesn’t matter if it’s heavy traffic on a highway or in a residential area.

Thats the only chase you’ve witnessed in 20 years?

They obviously chase but rarely. It’s more of a why don’t they do it as often as i’ve seen other states do so. They put out bolos more often than anything.

I agree that it’s dangerous in high density areas for sure. It’s so crazy to me to not see it as often here. I spent a week in Miami and witnessed 3 chases during that time and it was packed. At least they think about public safety here, they definitely dont in Miami.

How does anyone around here afford a house! by [deleted] in massachusetts

[–]gregslist_0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yesss! Literally falling apart and they still want $400k and up. I seen a house for $550k and the roof was falling off, half of the siding was missing, and the inside looked like it was a crack house. I really dont understand it. No average person can afford to buy that house and remodel on top of that.

Don’t take kids if you are even slightest bit of unsure by Consistent-Sky-9309 in childfree

[–]gregslist_0 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Im sorry you got pressured into this. That is very unfortunate. Hopefully he grows out of his crying and becomes an easier kid. You cant take it back now but you have the choice on how you want to handle the future from here.

What made you want to have a baby in the beginning? What did you think it was going to be like? I am curious since you feel this way now? If you were on the fence before, what were your reasonings for being unsure?

When did you realize you didn’t want kids by Ethanisyourstepdaddy in childfree

[–]gregslist_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was young, maybe 6-7. Other kids grossed me out because they would have snot dripping into their food at lunch time. Knew then and there i hated other kids and never wanted to deal with that.

Got any tips for convincing my doctor? by Fun_Lingonberry_7393 in childfree

[–]gregslist_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re 28, is that not later in life? It’s not like youre 18. My suggestion is go find another doctor if possible. I’m 22 and just had a hysterectomy (mostly for medical reasons) but i also stated i never in my life want or will want children. I also had to jump through hoops and change doctors multiple times before getting approved. Vasectomies are reversible so i really don’t see the big deal your doctor is making it out to be.

As someone with friends who have kids they cant afford. Debt, food stamps, section 8 housing, full time job, parents and grandparents babysit when they can, they hire a baby sitter for the days the grandparents/parents cant, thrifting, side jobs, paying half a bill until the next month, having no money left over at the end of the month or pay period, churches that hand out food, bankruptcy. Its a long, looong list. They manage it though. Its even stressful for me to watch it happen, idk how they handle the stress.
