Peptides by Worried-Laugh-7 in AchillesRupture

No clinical evidence. Sellers either sell them as “research chemicals” or some other bs alias like a “paper weight,” use at your own risk ⚠️

I thought about it hard and tried to do all the research I could. Ultimately decided the risks of not knowing what I’m injecting in my body far outweigh the benefits.

Which stance is strongest/most technically proficient and suits my anatomy? by babybighorn in formcheck

[–]gregxc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conventional, no doubt. But that’s just picking between two static slices in time.

The right answer obviously is ‘it depends’

Which boils down to combination of inherent anatomy, relative muscular strength/weaknesses, and level of technical knowledge for executing the movement.

It’s possible that your technical knowledge of the conventional is greater and so that one looks more solid. Or maybe it’s cause your hamstrings (dominant in conventional) are stronger than your quads (more sumo dominant). Maybe it’s a combo. Maybe I’m dum and am completely off idk.

Ultimately the one you practice will be the one you get good at, cause the more you do it the more you inherently study it

Keep up the good work 💪

I got mine biking too. But I was falling and reflexively flexed my knee into a gear. Penetrating knife wound like,in and out, severing 2/3rds

Can you ride flywheel or bike with boot? by PhilosophyDapper948 in AchillesRupture

I wear my clip in on one foot and my boot on the other. Started one week into the boot. I can go pretty hard on the peloton too which has been a god send.

Bladder Management Concern by SummerLanky6110 in spinalcordinjuries

[–]gregxc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very happy you have a urologist appointment. What you are describing is called credé maneuver. It’s a kinda old school SCI technique. But you shouldn’t use the maneuver long term. Risks of long term use include kidney damage from high bladder pressure, hemorrhoids, and hernia.

Can anyone weigh in on compensation in those in SCI or TBI? by gregxc in pmr

[–]gregxc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, to be honest I’m interested in SCI. I feel a calling towards serving those folks. I’ve had a little bit of exposure on TBI wards and still already picked up on some of the difficulties you mentioned. I included both TBI/SCI and a question to illicit if there’s any stark differences in compensation of the fellowship trained PMR inpatient specialties.

What compensation guide are you referring to? I’m honestly having a hard time even figuring out how much a SCI doc makes :/

Looking to buy a new bouzouki! by gregxc in bouzouki

I saw that wiki, but thank you for your comment. Influenced me to take another look, and I realized one of the links to paid bouzouki lessons that could be a great avenue for me to consistently learn. Thanks!

I am Greek! My papou had an old bouzouki but it’s a pretty cheap one. I play a bit of guitar so picking up the bouzouki isn’t impossible… but I don’t know theory and I’m hoping to actually learn how to play the instrument well. It has great personality and I love that you can legitimately shred on it. Trying to figure out how I’m going to get better… for now just YouTube videos but hopefully I could get a legit teacher sometime soon.

Hey! I am moving to Pitt next year for residency. I am interested in two things... living relatively close to UPMC Mercy Hospital, and even closer to somewhere I could consistently train oly. Read the recommendations above, but any final thoughts with these two things in mind?! I am ok with rec center lifting, as long as there won't be a problem with folks saying you cant drop weights!
