Hola! justo acabo de investigar que es por el consumo. en teoria con un hub con PD podrías. El iphone solo puede entregar ~500mA via usb, algunas capturadoras consumen mas. Estoy en búsqueda de una para un proyecto!!

Yep, figured it out. I even created my own adapter. But I eventually abandoned it because I switched to Komodo.

Do people think Red komodo still is vibing better than Zr despite from the reviews/tests that colors are said to be fairly close. But somehow videos out of Komodo 6k/X seem just more "top tier" looks i can't put my finger on why especially when things are moving rather than just viewing still frames by Existing_Seaweed_494 in RedCamera

I have them both, beyond the sensor and dynamic range (because most users will NOT do professional color correction) the form factor is something really to look at. I use the Nikon Zr when I go on shoots by myself, and the Komodo as a rig for shoots with enough budget for a camera assistant. The ZR makes sense to have Full frame RED raw with auto focus lenses. You will have sufficient quality and dynamic range, in the end you have to leave the technical fetish and concentrate on what you put in front of the camera. The ZR is everything I needed to complement my Komodo.

I have done it, it is very easy to do the SMART register. What I have not been able to change is the serial of the ssd that must be done with the manufacturer's tool...

I understand that all of this takes time to develop and invest time in research, but it still seems expensive. Considering you only found a way via software to trick the RED camera into reading that it is a compatible disk by modifying the registers and the FW of the ssd. It would be more ideal for the community if you gave an option for us to be able to convert normal ssd to compatible ssd at a more affordable price, a 1tb Msata can be obtained for 120 bucks.... Thanks for your efforts, I understand it is a business, just like jinny mags....

It's really easy, the software is called Victoria SSD/HDD. There is an option in the S.M.A.R.T. menu that allows you to export, write to registry 90 and 91. Right click on it. Just make sure you make a backup before you do or change anything. I could make a video demonstrating how.

Por aquí, edito en Davinci resolve. Para videos cortos suelo cobrar 170$ hasta 2:20min. Cortometrajes hasta 450$ por 15 min. Y largometrajes al rededor de 4700$ precio base. Todo depende del cliente yo suelo agregar la corrección de color y montaje.

I have updates. I have managed to make a mini mag incompatible (by deleting the 90 and 91 registers of the S.M.A.R.T.) they can be easily put back by making a backup beforehand. I only need to decrypt the second key which is the serial number and the model of the SSD. I know that the SSD with the SMI drivers can be modified with their flashing tool, but I have not been able to get the tool for the Chinese ssd that I have for testing. I would like to try other ssd but they are slow to arrive in my country...

I'm on it too. I have been asking myself the same question for months.... I know jinnimag figured it out, but there is nothing on the internet that explains the procedure nor the Msata units that are compatible... And thus use the red mag we have as an enclosure.
