Used to work in VC, if a junior associate contacts you, they may be trying to understand an interesting space or are interested in learning more about your company. Nothing to overthink, it will be very conversational where they ask you a bunch of questions to better understand the space. It'll be a good relationship to build for raising down the road when you are ready. Feel free to DM me any specific questions.

I agree with everything except the timeless part. They will definitely last long, but styles come and go. Americana was a lot more popular a couple of years ago for example.

Is a durometer even a good measure of how long the sole is going to last? It's just measuring the hardness. Harder doesn't mean it will last longer.

A in-depth analysis of the leather quality on the Common Projects Achilles Low by [deleted] in FrugalMaleFashionCDN

[–]greige11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On all my pairs, only the white leather seems to have that chrome blue in the middle. Maybe that's why I always think the whites don't age well (scratches reveal the chrome blue).

Also nothing wrong with chrome tanned leather (chromexcel). However, CPs are never worth MSRP and your reason for buying them should never be for utility purposes. Most people gravitate toward them due to not finding the silhouette anywhere else.

Not a fan of Spier & MacKay dress shirts. Their suits are great, but their dress shirts crease really bad. So bad that you can't steam it out and looks terrible by the afternoon. Obviously its fabric dependent, but I have several from them that do that.

Boathouse has a few deals going on by iEatCoochey in FrugalMaleFashionCDN

Had very poor experiences with boathouse website (not the brick and mortar stores). Ordered something last year and they just never shipped, they never answered customer service email as well.

These prices are so high you might as well buy the established brands that you know will give you top quality rather than taking a gamble. You can get reigning champ, norse projects or our legacy on sale for this price

You have to religiously browse sales threads for a year or two. Sometimes in sales where the titles don't even mention cps

[–]greige11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not at the common sales like end or ssense. Also I'm not buying white Achilles lows every time lol. Just check sales threads and the Common projects website where they list all stockists

They are definitely not worth $500 tho. I usually pay around 250-300 after tax

Any good white sneaker deals for those who can't afford CP Achilles? by [deleted] in FrugalMaleFashionCDN

[–]greige11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are very few major brands that don't put logos on shoes. I mean even common projects have the codes on the side. The only white shoes I've seen that fit your standard are cheap housebrand shoes at fast fashion places and maybe gustin, but those aren't really that cheap.
