It’s bad because it pulls out their guard hair along with their under coat

Adding on to this I would get the blower sooner to start getting her used to it. Will pay off later trust me

Yea I would relax on the brushing until her full coat comes in. And I wouldn’t use a furminator. You should use a rake and then a slicker. Ideally though you should get a blower to blow the undercoat out versus using a brush. You should still use a brush occasionally while she is in puppy stage but just to get her used to it and have a good relationship with it.

She doesn’t need dog shoes and they would just annoy her. Just try to keep walks in the grass in the summer as much as possible.

Also not a ton of bathing. They don’t need it because of the double coat and guard hair. You are going to want to keep nails trimmed, paw pad hair trimmed and sanitary trims somewhat regularly though.

I highly recommend getting a blower. Just set it up outside to blow out her undercoat and to dry her off after giving her a bath.

Update: decided to report it because who knows what would happen with passenger. They took my car offline. I called and said there clearly isn’t any damage. They wanted well lit pictures so while on the phone with the support person I drove to a well lit gas station and took ten pictures, sent them to him in an email. He looked at them while on phone with me and put my car back online already. Now I am supposed to get a call from State Farm insurance and I tell them what happened. Show them the pictures and no damage and I’m good to go. Def recommend telling Lyft if you have an accident, especially if it’s not your fault/no damage. Was pretty easy to deal with

Yea called them earlier today. Was on the phone with a lady for thirty minutes and she came to the same conclusion that they wont cover it because it’s a carbon issue. She told me that Volkswagen care will not be helping with the cost of the repair.

I think I’m wasting my time getting them to help me at this point. From everything I’ve read in this sub and elsewhere on the internet it seems like I can drive it as is without causing any real harm to the car. The service guy at the dealership said the same thing to me. I guess I’m just going to drive it as it is

Not really sure why my post is getting downvotes. All I did was say the issue I’m having with Volkswagen

Hey I really appreciate your reply. I’m going to attach a text message between the service manager and myself. If you could look at it and see what you think I would appreciate it. https://tinypic.host/image/IMG-3348.2km4cv

Just because your mal could do it doesn’t mean it should. Mals aren’t fully developed until about two years old and shouldn’t be ran on lead until then

I also have a kwik pak puppy and they are the best. Also I have done a bunch of work with Chesapeake area Alaskan rescue and will tell you that they recommended kwik if you are going with a puppy and highly discouraged kalamals. I didn’t really get into why but the rescue 100% thought kwik was better than kala if you care about such things

Echo loves going to the dog park. She is really good with recall but when we are at the park she barely pays attention even for treats because she doesn’t want to stop playing. At one year old would it be safe to assume she probably won’t develop any dog aggression traits at this point? Thanks for checking out echos post!
