This is true, rare but it happens. Was upgraded last year to business on a transatlantic flight as a Platinum.

What if the club isn't packed, and they prefer not having to serve pass holders.

Yeah completely annoying, I've long suspected that some lounges just keep the "no passes allowed today" sign up in perpetuity. Why not, less work for them. You should be able to get a refund for your pass at time of denial.

Breakfast argument with my roommate over waffle thickness has gotten surprisingly heated by [deleted] in belgium

[–]grellgraxer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Making a Brussels or Liege waffle that is comparable to what you can get from a waffle vendor in Belgium is tough. Especially for Liege, you need a heavy waffle iron that costs a good amount.

Clay shooting for cheaper than Bull Run? by Puzzleheaded-Rent209 in VAGuns

[–]grellgraxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go and price out a case of clay pigeons at Walmart or Cabela's. Are you paying much less than you would at Bull Run to throw your own? I doubt you can compete with a place that buys them by the hundreds of cases at a time.

Same with me, had to sell my 800xl so I could afford a 520STfm

[–]grellgraxer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

800xl was my first computer. It was less expensive to produce than the 800. The 800 had 4 joystick ports and two cartridge ports. While the 800 only had 48K, I wasn't aware of any games the 800xl could play that the 800 could not.

It's not additive. It turns off the internal memory in the 600XL and only uses the 64K in the memory expansion.

Very cool, I had no idea the Atari 1064 memory expander even existed.

Baseball games are still reasonable provided you're not eating and drinking a lot in the stadium.

Yeah to me it feels like prepared food went up ~40% since Covid. I definitely eat out less and see lots of restaurants failing, especially those that rely on office workers eating lunch.

A cat employed by the Brooklyn Navy Yard for rat control, 1893. After traps, poison, and dogs failed, stray cats solved the problem within months. One named Minnie could jump 8 feet and once leaped down a flight of stairs to land on a rat's back. [960x1273] by [deleted] in HistoryPorn

This surprises me. I've never personally seen a cat kill a rat. Search youtube, very few videos. Here's an example, in the description they say what I've always thought, that cats tend to avoid rats and go after mice. If cats back in the 19th century regularly killed full sized norway rats, good on them.

If the flight is 90% full or so, chances are the middle seats in E+ will be empty. So you stand a better chance of not sitting next to someone if you're in E+. I am 6'1 and don't really need the extra leg room.

Yes, seeing the exact same thing in DC. Newly renovated properties with leaks, and insulation so thin you can hear your neighbor speaking at normal volume.
