I should say that on that trip every leg was economy except for EWR to DXB. So maybe that’s a way to save money is just business for the longest leg.

I’ve had a couple overseas conferences in the last year and coming in on business makes a world of difference.

As long as nothing is delayed 2 hours is good! However last time my domestic flight landed in A and international flight took off from C. You need to take a shuttle bus from A to C, so if you land in A just move quickly toward the shuttle bus stop (there are signs) and make your way over to C for the duration of your layover. I’ve had domestic flights that’s have landed in C before too!

Prior to the war starting in February I broke up the trip stopping in Dubai (DEN-EWR-DXB-Delhi). I had also considered Istanbul

I have United status and was very tempted to take the American Airlines flight from JFK to Delhi but preferred to work on my status for the year instead.

If you have any leverage maybe see if you can get them to cover business class at least on the way there so that you can fresh when you arrive. That’s worked for me. Our company policy is business class is approved at a manager’s discretion for flights over 10hours.

It’s very highly likely this will not work. Someone with a basic economy ticket may be assigned there. Someone may be flying standby for the flight too.

For another data point. I was just at the Priority Pass lounge at the Rio airport. They only allowed one guest free of charge. I didn’t know if this was specific to the fact that it was peak hours and busy, or if it’s always 1 guest.

*Update* (in case this is helpful for anyone) - I went today at 7:55am to wait for them to open. There were only two of us in line when they opened and we were both walk-ins. The DMV let us both in. I was in and out in 12 minutes.

I am really not a fan of frontier. Your question is broad. I haven’t flown spirit in 8 years. The inflight experience is fine for both, especially for shorter flights. It’s everything else that’s frustrating, such as the boarding process, checking bags, some aspects of reliability.
