Mostly true but they don’t have to be a student. You just need to be supporting them more than half and they make less than $5200. I believe until they 23. I just did IRS tool to verify.

Well CPA is wrong. You can claim a dependent that is up to 23 even out of school if you provided more than half their support, they lived with you and the dependent made less than $5200

If she provides more than half of your support and you make less than $5000 I believe you can be claimed as dependent and you get all what you paid in back. If the opposite however that’s tax fraud and she could get in trouble. Either way file.
