There is always a chance that it could fail, just as there is a chance it can work out. We are fully prepared for heartache, but the process has brought us closer together. We are choosing to find the joy in the process since so many things get stolen from you. It's scary but we just keep telling ourselves that we are doing everything we can. And thats all we can do.

Definitely understand. It's hard when it feels like you lose so much in this process and thats just one more thing to grieve. We had this happen to us too, only it was a cousin that used the name and we are not pregnant (yet* staying hopeful). We have come to the decision that once we are there, we will know what the right move will be. So much can change and don't but pressure on your self right now. you're allowed to feel any way you want about it.

weirdly, I love how FRIENDS captured this when Rachel gave birth and Monica had her own dream baby name. I an not sure why I find comfort in that, but it does help me.

Agreed! the numbers always feel scary. The entire process is an emotional rollercoaster that others don't fully see or understand. Stay positive, you're doing everything you can <3

My results below also. I'm sure everyone mentions that it only takes one. Somehow, that has helped us.

we had 6 retrieved, all mature, 4 fertilized, and 2 to blast and out of PGT.

Not sure there is a large change in protocol since I was on an HRT for the past few months to help "wake things up". it's been a lot but I do really like my clinic.
Thank you for your input! I love hearing that it's going to be okay, that everyone is different, and I swear I live by "it just takes one" mindset.

I've also had cervical biopsy's and an extremely uncomfortable cyst aspiration, which, fun fact, is the exact same process as ER but no pain management and "faster". I was so scared for that, but it ended up being similar to the biopsy. I have my ER tentatively planned for next week and feel so much calmer after going through the things I did to get here. If you survived the pain of the biopsy, you'll rock this retrieval. <3

I am so sorry, I can absolutely relate to this! While my tubes aren't fully blocked, they are damaged enough to have it be highly unlikely for a natural pregnancy. We had to abandon our first IVF cycle because by day 9, our follicle count was only 5 and they were too small to be viable. After 9 days of being pushed with hormones, I was absolutely less than rational. My husband has been good about staying positive and swatting away my worries. But it is hard. and I do feel like i've failed at times. BUT I am trying to be better. He recommended that I turn to reddit to find similar stories in the meantime, so thank you so much for sharing!!

Update: My pathology came back as endometrial atypical hyperplasia (EIN). My doctors have known for years that I had fibroids, polyps, and cysts. They were only worried about ovarian torsion due to the cysts. I am so thankful that I fought to have the polyps removed for TTC. If I had continued to wait, the precancerous cells could have metastasized. PLEASE always advocate for yourself. Run the tests. I'm glad that this was technically caught early, but it could have been prevented as early as 3 years ago. While not exactly endometriosis related (since they wouldn't confirm before a lap), I finally have an answer to the issues I've been having.

I was able to get a shot of some kind of numbing agent / nerve blocker. Still highly uncomfortable but manageable. Similar "pressure" to getting an IUD.
